Have you ever been out of the country? This is an honest question.

If you watch any foreign broadcast of American events, you begin to believe that their journalistic standards are better than ours. Their reports often look for nuances beyond the story itself, there is little sensationalism and little bias. They often report on our terrible justice system, our racism, and our human rights atrocities. All is good.


Then you watch how they report on their own nation, and you realize how much we have in common. RT is a state funded "news" network who, based on how they report on Russia, employs worse journalistic practices than a fair amount of national and international news outlets in the developed world. The grass is not always greener.
