Got faked out on some USO 2019 calls yesterday and got out this morning.

Did pull the trigger on two Feb 2016 T-Mobile $60 Calls @ $2.19. Gonna bail before the earnings report for sure though but a relatively high short interest means that if this takes off, a decent amount of shorts will have to cover their positions which could take the stock even higher still. We shall see.

If it doesn't get above 68 in a month or two, I'd get nervous.


Outside of the chart, what do you say to people who say that there is so much more global competition for shoes nowadays that the opponents will start cutting into NKE's profits?

NKE is damn near synonymous with sports in America. It's shoes are now being part of our culture. Furthermore, success of new products (Kyrie's) and old products (classic J's) mean they will be selling slot of products for the foreseeable future.

I heard the new Kyrie's aren't popping as much as the other ones?

I need to do my research but IIRC NKE has always had to deal with ADIDAS, but have they ever had as much direct competition from fashion sneakers like Yeezy's and Steph Curry's? Or the idea that African-Americans under 30 are pivoting to upper class clothing and shoes? It is definitely good for them that the casual wear is popping but I guess we will see how things play out.

Stopped out of the USO calls as well a couple days ago. Trying my hand on some BA calls now. Deep-in-the-money since the expiration is 10 days away. If I get shaken out here I might have to pump the breaks on the trading a bit and work on my entries in a simulation environment.

I understand you're betting against the market if you're right you win. Broker wins because they charge premiums and contract fees.

I'm trying to understand how allowing this benefits the market?
