How many of these producers could realistically be effectively hedged deep into the year? Every time I read about a different company, a point is made that they are almost fully hedged through the rest of this year at like $85-$95 a barrel. If that's not bs, whoever is on the other end of those trades must be:mjcry:

A lot of them are... I know EPE is hedged something like 95% through 2015 @ $90, 80% through 2016 @ $80 and 20% at $65 a barrel through 2017. Somebody on the wrong sides of those trades.

:skip:

On another note... took a flier on GDP today.

Felt like gambling today... bought 15 $7 Jan 2017 calls @ $0.05 a contract. Stock was $23 within the past year. Bought 6 $0.50 Jan 2017 puts @ 0.25 a contract.

If it gets anywhere close to its high the past year within the next 1.5 years, I'll clean up. If they go bankrupt, I'll basically break even. Might come out a couple bucks up.

Flat oil prices for 1.5 years or a buyout between $0.50 and $7 would lose me the $260 I spent. A return to the high of $23, which will probably never happen... could return me $25,000

:pachaha:

did it run up too much into earnings? I don't get it.
it was very turbulent...range was from $57 to $62 after hours as far as I could see. But its above $63 now so hopefully it persists.

You never really know until that conference call begins. I imagine everyone wants to know the guidance.

But they grew YoY this quarter more than they did last quarter. (71% vs. 55%) I see NO REASON not to raise guidance or keep it the same. There's no reason with analyst price target increases and a short squeeze that this shouldnt hit at least 65 tomorrow IMO.

i really see no reason for this shyt to be down though. I mean all things being equal...speculation regarding the conference call...how stupid does one have to be to sell this shyt for $57 when they crushed top and bottom :wtf: or to sell for lower at all

Downward guidance revision? All about future growth with these stocks.
