i haven't bought a car since 2007. mine got 200k miles on it. not looking to buy a new car anytime soon.
Cars are one of those things that wreck people financially. It's one demon I never had to battle.

It's funny because to some 200K miles on a car is a badge of honor they wear proudly as they attempt to see just how far they can get on the odometer. To others even 100K means it's time to dump their car and get a new one. Because I drive a company vehicle for my job I don't think my car will live to see 100K miles before Michigan takes it from me due to rust. I got it in Oct 2019 and due to COVID driving was reduced but I've only put 5K miles on it in so 1 year and 6 months car is at 26K miles and it's a 2016.

i don't drive alot anymore. drove 6k miles last year. and whenever i go to a long trip, i just rent cars.

i guess it would be convenient to own a nice EV someday, but i just don't feel the need right now. and i have no plans to acquire any depreciating assets.
and i'm done financing in this life time. whatever i buy, i buy with cash. and it's liberating.

damn, i guess i'm getting old. i used to be obsessed with cars. :mjlol:

that full freezer door for ttcf looks good. Voyager has been doing well for me. If you got some money to risk, voyager stock or bitcoin straight up can give high returns.

Whats the difference from me buying 100 shares next week at 17 or so?
You have to put less capital at risk. If say you bought a $15 strike option a year from now and the stock went up to 30, you can sell the option contract (the one you bought for maybe $125) for now who knows $750 (just making this up). You don't have to see an option all the way thru the end, and exercise it. Lots of people (like me) buy and sell the contract.

:ohhh:

Thats genius. I had no idea thats how options worked. I may just take profits before eoy on that position and get a contract off of it for a year off.

So say you buy a contract for 20 that ends 1/23. And it goes to 50 5 months before that. Are you able yo sell/buy the contract at that 50 price?
