hate what they pull, but it's a beautiful App cuz i get to trade BTC and ETH. :mjlit:

And just a superior App in terms of UI. it's not gonna go away because it's easier than anything else. :manny:
Not sure what y’all mean by easier as every app is pretty clear as day how to buy/sell. But RH broke the mold with no commissions and that’s what got them their following, now that all the other brokerages got rid of commissions, there’s no moat. These kids ain’t dumb, they been on tech all their lives. It’s nothing to learn how to press “buy” in another app

people may be lazy and don’t want to transfer accounts, but acting like RH is offering something special is a lie.

You can reload your shorts, then tell a company that’s one of your biggest trading partners (and therefore under your control) to stop stock purchases right afterward knowing that’s going to trigger a drop in price? Especially when you’re bleeding financially and have every motive to try to limit your overall losses? How is that legal? :skip:
I agree that's its very unethical. I haven't read the fine print but I haven't seen an argument yet that says its illegal. Again, I wouldn't be surprised if RH had an out in their language that says they can make calls to protect the business.

I'd liken it to a bank arbitrarily selling your house "for your own good" without notice. RH may have a technical reason to fall back on in this particular case but it's still fukked when their motivations are anything but the well being of their user base.
We'll have to see what those motivations are. I'm just hesitant to be in outrage over something that they technically had the right to do. That's the game.

Very interesting, there’s a lot those in power are “technically” allowed do that isn’t ethical or fair, surprised to see you caping for shut like that. Anyway, CNBC just had the CEO of interactive brokers on, the other platform that banned buying these stocks, and the motivation was purely about protecting institutions - he said it flat out, I’m sure the video will be up soon. That’s bullshyt and just another example of how corporate (America)can run roughshod over everyday Americans/people.

Interactive brokers CEO keeping it real - they put the hold in to protect themselves and clearing houses. They are so mad at the squeeze

the banks are wack

This old dude on CNBC that runs a trading platform, Interactive Brokers, does not care how you feel.
