Chamath said the same thing cathie said on his podcast “all in.” After hearing his argument I am starting to agree. When you do that you’re giving tech companies way too much power and I don’t want those out of touch cacs in Silicon Valley gate keeping their services.
Twitter and Facebook were the same tech companies saying they can’t ban trump because they’re just a platform and not moderators but as soon as democrats win congress and the president seat they flip their stance to please the party so they don’t get broken up.

that's not what it is at all, fukking trump used the platform to get people to the capitol and storm the place, that was the last straw. at some point you have to stop enabling pure lunacy. people have been asking for them to do this for years, but it took both the right and left feeling some type of way about people running up on congress for them to finally be like, ok, this fringe speech & communities shouldn't be allowed to flourish on our sites.
that's not too much power as there are still tons of dedicated websites for qanon, trumpism, white supremacy, conspiracy theories, etc as well as news networks and sites. i can't get with people crying about the equivalent of not being able to spew stupid shyt over the PA system at madison square garden (FB, Twitter) when they still can stand on the corner with a megaphone (Breitbart, Newsmax, Parler, st0rmfr0nt, OANN) and pretty much do the same

I don't think it's an overreach by tech companies because terrorism and terroristic threats have never been allowed on any platform. Go ahead and start making threats and see how long you last on the coli... you won't. They will ban you and forget you ever existed.
That's what happened here. They don't want to be responsible for what's going on. It was all fun and games when it was a bunch of seemingly dumb rednecks with nothing but spare time. On January 6th it started to get real.
Also, it's nobody's right to have a Twitter account. Normal people have their accounts thrown in the bushes everyday. The sitting President happens to be a fukking idiot and got his taken away and they tried to give him as much leeway as possible.. He continued to violate the terms of service.
Everyone signs the terms of service agreements and then they want to forget about them and hide behind the first without actually understanding what the first protects you from.
Maybe Cathie and Chamath both don't understand what the first is and what it means and what it doesn't mean.

If only everyone could get along like mlk wanted and focus on getting gains and not spreading hate. But unfortunately there's gonna be platforms out there like parlor full of hateful people. I'd prefer we celebrate instead of hate. Let's make this a great week and hope the inauguration doesn't bring any unnecessary fukkery to our investments.
