I know this thread is mostly about eating but if yall can can some chime in with their worst Ls? I just want to be cognizant of what can happen good n bad.

i invested the first 13 years of my military career faithfully into the thrift savings plan at 10% of my salary. Problem is it was in the G fund. Which basically has a return of 2.23%. Which is damn near a high yield savings account status when I could of invested in the C fund which tracks the S&P and had around a 13.6% return rate.

so that was 6 years ago when I figured that out. This year I realized that I could of actually just invested my damn self and had more control over what I invested in and profited more.

so the first 13 years I got around $52,000 and missed out on over what could have been $100,000.

so this year when covid hit they had this thing that allowed you to withdrawal your TSP early due to covid I took that shyt so fast and have been investing myself across multiple funds. And yes I still use the TSP but only at 4% now. But just me basically investing in ARK ETFs, PLTR, Apple, and NIO. I have already made more than my whole career dealing with the TSP.

If you are in the military or a federal employee look at that damn TSP and make sure you aren’t in that C fund. Basically gave the Goverment a loan for them to invest most likely. My lack of research or honestly even doing a bit of research led to me missing out on a very good amount of money.

You misspelled the company's name. That might have been why you missed it. It is Palantir (PLTR)

I would do separate searches using: 1) the company name; 2) the stock symbol; and, 3) the major investor/CEO. In this case, it would be Peter Thiel (just use his last name).

As some point, all three have been used to bring up great points.
palatin is a biotech stock

Unfortunate naming given peloton and palantir are similar and killing the game lol

Bag holding TLSS as we speak. Bought in around .17 and even after DCA down to .04 I’m still down 53%. That said, it’s not a loss until you sell. I’m going to just hold this shyt, it finally seems to be flirting with the .02 level, maybe next summer it will hit .05 and I can get out.

I'm seriously about to print this out and hang it on my wall.

I really like those rumors: SoFi, Hyperloop, SpaceX and Stripe are all day 1 cops and DCA territory.

Hyperloop lowkey been making gains. The technology is here. No longer spec.

He updates them every now and then. Just found him yesterday.

Where do I begin?

:mjlit:

My first huge L was dumping 15k in gnus at .81 cents. But deini, how can that be an L? It ran to 11 bucks. Well my friend, I panicked when it dropped 10 cents immediately and I sold for 2300 loss, not even 15 mins later it was back to what I bought it at. Could of made 220k if I held.

My biggest loss was southwest, I bought at what I thought was the low at 29, buying 29k worth, but boy was I wrong when it dropped to 23. I sold at 7:57 pm on a Friday for a 5500 loss and next week it went back to 29 and even further:mjcry:

Its forever fukk buffet and boeing ceo for those comments.

Now I've had others where I didnt make as much as I could of and some minor losses but those 2 are my biggest L's. I chalk it up to inexperience. I was fresh in the game then, looking for yolo gainz. Im now up over 120% on the year so its all worked out well. Trying to find the balance of long term investing and swinging. I think I've found my stride now.

Most of my Ls have been from jumping out too early but those gains I've reinvested in things like Apple, Microsoft, Tesla so it's all good

I'm holding on to A LOT of Intel right now that purchased at 60 a long time ago but I don't think I'm going to get rid of it
