$FSLY:picard:

anyone big on tech can explain what happend?
Tki Tok being the biggest customer + FSLY being pretty volatile on its own as main street really doesn't understand CDN's + news of TT's usage not being as anticipated = wild swing

guidance went from 73-75M to 70-71.5M and voila!

edit: NET dropped too :mjlol:, no clue why other than more evidence that people don't understand the CDN market and have tied these two together

For the record, my beef with Fastly is that retail investors chose them over NET.

With that said, we all know Amazon runs the CDN market.

they don't tho, at least not when you look into customers who actively shop for a CDN, not those who simply attach Cloudfront because they're an AWS customer. Akamai is still king, but most companies have a multi-CDN environment, it's a market where multiple people can and will eat.

Bad Ideas Report | White Paper by ARK Invest
WHITE PAPER
Bad Ideas Report

Today, we believe the global economy is undergoing the largest technological transformation in history. Disruptive innovation should displace industry incumbents, increase efficiencies, and gain majority market share. As technologies emerge and transform entire industries, investors in traditional benchmarks may face more risk than historically has been the case.

To help investors stay on the right side of change, this white paper seeks to identify the industries and sectors most at risk of disintermediation and disruption. We aim to size investors’ current exposure to those areas.

Based on our research, we believe investors should evaluate and avoid the following “Bad Ideas”:

I. Physical Bank Branches

II. Brick and Mortar Retail

III. Linear TV

IV. Freight Rail

V. Traditional Transportation
