even if they only took a fraction of these markets that's a lot of revenue. Peloton is popular but their sub base is still only what 500,000? That's not a huge advantage to me.. it's still new enough to where I can see Apple taking up some market share.
peloton isn't the only player, i just name-dropped them since that's the app i use - nike, daily burn, aaptiv, sworkit are all big in general fitness, plus a lot of specialized apps for runners, cyclers, lifters already have a strong subscriber base amongst apple users in addition to all the free content on youtube. i mean, of course people will use it, but apple is all in on subs due to declining hardware sales, yet their services are pretty much only available to those who use their hardware - that's a limited crowd further limited by you needing people to switch to (or add) your services. their sub revenue has done well, but i'm a believer in subscription fatigue - at some point the market gets too fragmented unless you're the market leader

They might make it available to other users.. like Android gang can still have an Apple music subscription.

No Whammies!!
Apple turned red after the event lmao. Sell the news holds true today

Wild prediction: Apple drops to $95 before end of year

"Sell the news" is the reason I plan to sell my TSLA calls on battery day. I'll keep at least half of the money away from TSLA and roll some back into at-the-money calls then.

@dora_da_destroyer Was just watching this analyst on CNBC. He thinks Fitness+ will be "ok" but he thinks the Apple One bundle will be huge because now you have Spotify and Peloton combined into one payment along with cloud service, arcade, etc.. and it's cheaper than having all those on their own.
the bundle will be popular with those who already use multiple apple services and possibly the most price conscious who don't really leverage their existing subs/apps. there's more to switching costs than the $$ amount. and as a big fitness person, peloton really has amazing instructors, i haven't seen an app come close, willl apple have the quality?

Apple doesn't have the best phones but they still have a massive market share like 15-20% or something. It depends on how deep they go into promoting it and whether "influencers" start using it.. people are sheep

apple iphone was a first mover advantage (at least in regard to popularizing the touchscreen phone)...

Apple is Apple, they'll be fine, their subs revenue is both healthy & growing, but they've entered that space where MSFT was in the 00's, simply coasting, not innovating or leading. Luckily they have a cult of acolytes who'll never let them die.
