These bodega owners are some clowns, unless their store is on the upper east side or west side they shouldn’t worry about that app..

The bodegas in the hood will always prosper them mofos open 24/7, literally know the folk in the neighborhood where they can come and get a lossey for .50, a ham and cheese hero or chopped cheese… Them grocery delivery apps for them transplant cacs.. folk in the hood ain’t fukkin wit those apps just like they not fukkin with door dash or Uber east.. folk can’t afford to play $35 dollars for $10 worth of food.. they go and get their grub and save $35 instead

Mom and pop means small businesses. If it's effecting them you know it's effecting us.

Iss coo. Let's all work for Amazon Eats.

Whatchu talking about here?

These particular Mom and Pop be hiring their sons/daughters/cousins/siblings.

Nothing will be lost outside of some overpriced kool-aid

There are no bodegas employing neighborhood youth or community people to work in positions - occasionally they’ll let a 65 year old homeless basehead sweep in front of the store for $5. Outside of the occasional chopped cheese sandwich - nothing of value will be lost. Those are not mom and pop shops that hire to be charitable or inclusive.

Bodega owners who tend to exploit the community’s lack of resources and never reinvest in the same community or customers where they set up shop to access wealth, are complaining about being exploited and outsourced by wealthier corporate owners for their lack of investment in the community, where they operate while infringing on the customer base. Interesting paradox.

I'm speaking more to the overall effect of covid life and the wages people are asking for. How it basically drives the little guys out the game and replaces them with big companies. If a neighborhood bodega can't survive in their own neighborhood how are we getting in let alone surviving.

Black owned mom and pop stores, and Carribean markets in the neighborhood are doing just fine. That’s my concern- unless you’re invested or have family working at a bodega - Not sure what your point is and why you keep repeating yourself. It’s not the same equivalencies. If business owners have a specialized niche offering then they can acclimate to the circumstances. Bodega owners taking advantage of food deserts for their own personal financial gain is not that.
