Artists gets stipends to record. Usually its a monthly stipend after they get their advance to start recording the album. Artists don't pay for anything, all expenses (studio, promo, production) are sent to the record company and the record company has to recoup the costs from album sales.
So technically the label is not giving him money, they are paying him what they are contractually obligated to pay him. Them pledging the bail money was generosity, which does not mix with buisness. This is why Shmurda is sitting on Rickers right now, the CEO does not want to sign off on generosity.
Him struggling to come up with 200k tells me his money is all screwed up. You got artists are letting their publishing checks, show money, and stipends go through their management. Remember his rant on youtube about not getting show money or Lex Luger complaining management is holding his money from records he produced.
Max B went through this too, and had to give up his publishing to get bail money from Jim Jones.
I can't believe its 2015 and rappers still have no business sense like its 1996, even after all the stories of Dre, Pac, and Cash Money rappers getting raped.

Of course they have no business sense. Its the main reason they got chosen to be on the labels. They know marks when they see one.

What makes it worse, management are using some of the same dirty tricks. And Shmurda management was his mom, too.
Pac and Max B they had to keep doing shows and features to get money for their legal fees. So Shmurda better adjust his reasoning, because the label never puts up that kind of money, its usually sharks like Suge or Jim Jones.
You see Puffy did not put not a dime up for Shyne. Shyne was like Puffy has 2 lawyers, he could let me get one.
Young boy better smarten up, you better respect the game. Rappers getting fukked in 2015 like TLC have only themselves to blame.

They smarten up and they dont get chosen. Its a lose lose when you try to sign onto nonblack economy interest labels who just see you as another way to make money and not and not a business partner to make money with.
