Filoni (and Lucas) brought Maul back and it worked perfectly.

I fully trust Filoni if he wants to bring Boba back :manny: shame on you if you don't

There aren't anymore clone troopers at after the og trilogy. You got space janitors like Finn now rocking the armor.

Few Clones are still around as proof from the show Rebels with Rex and his people. But all of them long been discontinued as part of the Empire. Plus adding Boba Fett would make perfect sense as someone who's hired to hunt down Mando.

What's this I keep hearing about Jango and Boba not being real Mandalorians?

I presume there would be a backstory to Jango Fett as to it being a paralleled with Mando's which is an orphan child raised by Mandalorians. The only different is that Palpatine recruited him to raise the Clone army under his likeness. As for Boba Fett, after witnessing the murder of his father, he essentially want to follow in his own footsteps.

No Whammies!!
Never saw the big deal about Boba Fett personally. He always seemed like a jobber.

I think it kinda depends on your age. More than anything he had that "cool looking character" factor in a time when there just weren't as many visually appealing characters of that caliber on screen. I remember reading all my uncle's late 70's, early 80's comics as a kid and they would have the old Star Wars toys ads, and his toy just popped of the page because it looked so much doper than the others. Plus there was a whole air of mystery and badassery hovering about him too. Just doesn't have the same effect today or if you discovered him in the 90's:yeshrug:.

I think a big part of it was that jet packs were cool in the 70s.

"No well dressed man should be without one" :

Plus, the whole choking hazard "banned" action figure made him even more mysterious:

As a writer Lucas never realized just how useful a good villain could be, so he came up with these throwaway characters that ended up being more beloved than his heroes. Darth Maul is the perfect example. It took Filoni coming after the fact to really flesh him out and make him a more tragic/relatable character.

Whether or not Disney has the faintest clue what to do with Boba Fett remains to be seen.

It’s not bad. The problem with it is that it’s episodic, but doesn’t really build towards anything until the final couple episodes. Feels like a space version of ‘Kung-Fu’ at times...but you sorta knew Caine’s mission. Don’t really have an idea of the Mandalorian’s goal. But it is very entertaining and definitely better than anything they’ve had on the big screen since ‘Rogue One’.

He didnt have a goal really until he met baby Yoda, before that he was just out for his money, doing his everyday adventure :manny:
