Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. has been offered a contract by Top Rank for a pay-per-view bout against Gennady Golovkin that is for 70 percent less money than he'd been offered if he signed a two-fight contract extension with the promoter, Chavez's manager told Yahoo Sports late Wednesday.

In addition, manager Billy Keane said under terms of the new deal offered, Chavez would not get a share of pay-per-view revenues until after Top Rank had made "millions upon millions of dollars."

Jr is still signed with Top Rank for another year and some change regardless of how the fight goes though so whatever happens will happen within the confines of the current contract and that is what needs to be honored. So why should Jr be expected to take a paycut because he won't do something extra when he is still within an existing contract? At this point and time Arum is supposed to be advocating for the fighter he has a contract with not try to strongarm him into an extension. This fight should be Arum proving to Jr that re-upping is in his best interests because Arum can get him the most lucrative match-ups.
Taking the stance of needing the assurances of an extension when there could conceivably be 3 more fights put on within the current contract is shady as fukk.

Maybe I'm crazy but I look at Bob in the same light as I do Schaefer or Deboef or Floyd.. They're all about revenue.. But it seems like people only shyt on Bob for wanting to make money lol..
