this is the episode critics have been raving about and it absolutely lived up to the hype :wow:

I was on the edge of my seat like :lupe:

i was worried for a second brehs, i thought dunn had that gun behind his back and chalky was a goner.:whew:

eli snitched yall. his point of view is his own son looks up to nucky more than him, the one thing he had over nucky was his family, and now he doesnt even have that. if they can get harrow to tell nucky it really was eli who pushed for his murder and that jimmy was actually the one who was adamantly against it, that would be a nice twist and fukk up his mental. remember in season 2 episode 7, when jimmy talks to nuck before he's shot and goes "it doesnt make a difference if its right or wrong, just have to make a decision." nucky didnt know what he was talking about, with that information harrow gives em, that would be a good flashback scene and realize jimmy was telling the truth and that it was eli. :to:

chose his own blood over his surrogate son. present time he finds out his own blood deceived him again and that he was the one who said just kill em already. having this season come to a close with nucky now having absolutely no one there with him. eli, eddie, Margaret and a son he killed that shouldve been by his side for life. :sadbron:

it so demonic, friends.

:whoa: I predict Eli DOESN'T snitch and makes his son go to jail. Remember he's been to jail too and his son was poppin off at that mouth about being a man... welp, now you'll learn Willie.

I don't understand how this show aint more popular w/ black folk tho. I mean Breaking Bad had like 5 pages per episode and countless others in btw. But Boardwalk Empire, with prominent black characters, a good storyline and great acting, is relegated to the 2nd page in Arcadium, Tues-Sunday morning.

Breaking Bad is a GREAT show don't get me wrong. But BE aint too far behind...should be way more popular round here. Then again nuccas always claiming this forum full of cacs :lupe:

Breaking Bad thread was upped and wasn't on a premium network. I don't see any HBO shows doin number like that on here. It's always been that way, tho you might be right about the cacs.

I don't get this chick, one minute she is helping the Dr, next minute she is ruining his plans.

There's two ways to look at it. She identified with Chalky during that song that's why she says, "Oh no.." or something like that. Or this was all planned and part of the plot for Narcisse to get Chalky to trust her even more.

Patricia Arquette has a nice face and the cleavage and attitude are attractive but the rest of that body is :scusthov: She'd have to get me pissy drunk and punch me like she did Nuck before I hit that.

What else has the actor that played Dunn been in? From day 1 he owned that character. From the 1st jail scene I was like this mufukka got 1920's lingo down pat like shyt! It'll be hard to see him in other roles like most HBO series actors. Let me find out he british or sum shyt tho like my boys Kareem Said and Stringer Bell. :childplease:

A thought crossed my mind: Narcisse tells Daughter that another visitor will stop by after Chalky comes thru and she's to make sure Chalky doesnt leave before the 2nd visitor gets there. That's all we see of that exchange. What if Narcisse, knowing who he's going to send and why, expects there to be a physical confrontation? What if Narcisse instructed Daughter that if Chalky appears to be losing the conflict, she should intervene? Maybe Dunn outlived his usefulness to the Dr. (operation got exposed, AND Chalky destroyed mad work!) and this was a way to punish Dunn, disconnect himself from the dope if Dunn gave him up, and further get Daughters hooks in Chalky? Just a theory, not sayin I even believe it, but it could make things even more interesting. Cuz I can't lie, I knew once Dunn got on top and was choking Chalky, she was gonna save him. I was waiting to hear a single shot ring out, but she got up close and personal with the meat cleaver. :ehh:

Look at this nikkas IMDB pic
MV5BMTQwMDg1MzI3NF5BMl5BanBnXkFtZTgwMTEyMzIxMDE@._V1_SY317_CR124,0,214,317_.jpg
, I HAVE to see him in another movie or something cuz i can only picture him as this character.

and for the second part of your post, great minds think alike. :salute:

called it over a month ago brehs :youngsabo:

how is nucky going to get out of this one, maybe eli will be a double agent :ohhh:

Man what a episode, this season is piff :obama:

I was scared for chalky brehs, i had a feeling she was going to save him though.

fukk you dunn :pacspit:

nucky got jealous of mickys aura with the cane :lolbron:, his swag was on a million.

next episode looks crazy in chicago aswell :blessed:
He ain't the weak link imo.

He doesn't know shyt so there's nothing he can really tell. The real weak link is Eli.

If Eli stands strong they have nothing to worry about even if they decide to investigate further into that poisoning.

Nucky: "The only thing you can count on is blood"

is that so

Alright, are my complete thoughts on this episode

  • shyt was :banderas: from start to finish
  • I'm not buyin this blonde chick from Florida... she's way too out of pocket for a 1920's woman, but she did son Nucky. Dude was in his feelings and had to snap on Mickey Doyle. My dude Doyle's mouthpiece game was :whew: Nucky was jealous of Mickey's thick parted hair. My nikka Doyle was stylin' on Nuckey with that Kappa cane swag. :whew:
  • This fed case makes no sense to me. The agent has proof of Eli and Nuck breaking the law to get into that deposit box but does nothing. He hears a story from Eli's son's college roommate and now all of a sudden has a case??!? :why:
  • It will be interesting to see how Eli handles the situation. Obviously he's upset because Nucky handled the situation and didn't tell him, but I can't see him turning against his brother again. I'm also wondering what stops him from saying "Yeah I'll do it" to get out of the situation but then NOT doing anything once he's away from the agents. I know they had Eddie jammed up in that room but I'm not sure what the interrogation laws were back then. Eli snitching does not benefit him in ANY way. Eventually they'd find out and his son would still hate him. Like I said earlier, he might just make his son deal with it.
  • I'm too lazy to find and quote it but I said Dunn Purnsley was a dead man earlier this season. He was the easiest person to sacrifice. The doctor or Daughter Maitland is next. I see Daughter dying trying to save Chalky or something. Her character is written perfect for a tragic death and it allows him to go back to his family with no baggage. On another note how in the world does a performer like her risk raw, consistent sex like pregnancy wasn't a threat?
  • I'm glad Chalky wised up. You could tell he didn't trust Dunn but he was leaving himself wide open for a backstabbing.
  • Where da fukk does the Dr sleep and who is running Harlem during this time? :dwillhuh: I also have no idea what the Dr's plan is. Step 1: Flood the hood with herion Step 2: Teach black empowerment. Step 3: ???? Step 4: Victory? I hope they go into that.
  • Narcisse was looking a little defeated when Chalky burnt that heroin. But judging by the previews he bounces back.
  • I like how they touched on the dynamic of politicians using black people for their vote. Same things happens today but I low key respect it more how they did it back then. Blacks had their own leaders and at least the vote meant something.
  • Random but... imagine a roadtrip from Tampa to Atlantic City during those days. :bryan: shyt was probably the worst.
  • I wonder what's going to happen with Nucky and Chalky's relationship... seems pretty tense in the upcoming episode.
  • Also, the writing for this show is :ohlawd: not only do they have the historical accuracy, but they touch on the lot of complexities of a character like Chalky White. He's a black man in the early 20th century, can't read, has to low key c00n it up for political capital, and yet is savvy as fukk. That scene someone posted when he first met Dunn was great. He was keeping his cool and wound up outsmarting that big brute in the jail cell. Chalky doesn't even get a lot of screen time, but the way they write him is :wow:
Favorite quotes:
"You're in a hurry"
"I wasn't hurryin' when it count was I?"

"He came, he saw.."
"and he CONKED her?" :russ:

"Florida huh? What do you guys do in the summer?"
"Stay in the shade mostly, keep away from sharp objects"
"Not all of them I hope." :shaq:
"Depends on if I'm in the mood."
"How's your mood now? Cuz mines pretty good" :shaq:

:what:AR has no interest in that in that deal. He's spiraling out of control breh. That's his arc this season.
I'm not posting spoilers but AR is going to have a come up and I don't see how you guys are missing it. He is playing the long con on these guys. Think for a sec, who put the Feds on him last year? Yes and what happened to that and look what is happening to Nucky now. Payback.

How many times has AR played people? Last year Lucky and Meyer, the brothers from Philly season 1 and left Nucky hanging last year. He played Joe Masseria selling him his own smack back at a profit. Yes he a lost a card game and now he spiraling out of control ?? Foh.

if he hadnt flipped on his brother before, and even given the ok to murder his own brother, i'd think differently. eli has always been jealous of nucky, be it of him running the city and how he always treated jimmy better than him.

in season one when nucky gives jimmy a lot of money and tells him to skip town eli goes ""I wonder sometimes if it was me... Would you be half as understanding?"

him bombing and causing a fight at the irish dinner. 2:35

and the aftermath:laugh:

"You know it's a shame you didn't see Hardeen last night. It's an entertaining act, but if he weren't Houdini's brother nobody'd give a fukk!"
:banderas:

fast forward to season 2

eli comes crawling back and is hit with nucky telling him to fukk off. i dont think its a coincidence that the hit is put on nuckys life after him and eli fist fight. hes too smart of a character not see how ironic that is.

start at 2:50

:to:

last season during easter

"You think I'm bottomless don't you? You just keep reaching in. And no matter what you do it's alright. No. Matter. What. You sit down with my enemies. You make choices you can't ever take back. And still... still you call yourself 'my brother'. Don't you know how that hurts me?"

:damn:

now fast forward to this season and everythings going good, until eli finds out nucky has more of an influence over his son than he does. the one thing he could always hold over nuckys head is now gone. i wouldnt be surprised if eli snitched to have nucky thrown in jail and then this way he can say to willie "look at your uncle now? that who you want to be like?" fukk eli. there is only one true eli. and that is Eli Manning :myman:
