Don't get it twisted. Buscemi is a great actor and does his thing in most roles (even as Nucky at times) but I just feel they could have found a more commanding presence than him as the lead. But even though the real Nucky was a big man I remember the creators/producers of the show saying they didn't want to have a large man as the lead so it wouldn't remind people of Tony Soprano.

naw I didnt write the whole exchange. He clearly doesn't know anything about black nationalism and what they're about. And I dont think his motives are really that out in the open. He has relationships with whites so it will be hard for others to really understand his disdain for them. Really AR was the only white person he touched and wiped his hand with so if you are ignorant of black nationalism then I can see how someone may not fully understand that scene

I have never understood the hate for Nucky. Yes he simps but he is a human with flaws. Anyone can create a typical hollywood gangster but how many times have we seen those type of movies?
He drops so much piff and game and y'all just want explosions and shootings.

I hope so. I was hoping to see more of him this season. Hell, we haven't seen Luciano and Lanksy since the 1st episode. Don't really know what they was up too in the mid to late 20's, Luciano and Lanksy prime years ain't really happen to the 30's. I doubt we'll ever get to see them.
They have the creative license for these characters, they're not 100% tied to their real life counterparts. Which means they can go too.

It was a trip watching hold his "talented 10th- black empowerment" sitdown then the very next scene we find out he runs the local numbers game and wants to flood the black community with heroin
I kinda like Eli's son's storyline.
they can't go too crazy creatively. they still have to follow the main trajectory of their real life but now they can add spice or vinegar to certain moments to make it more interesting. his ultimate fate will probably be the same but the reasons he came to it might be a little different.

i been away to long, my feeling died.
They are not going anywhere , Nucky in real life was an important influence to Lucky and supported him starting the commission . Nucky will make so much money if they follow his real life story that he will rival Andrew Mellon.
