There's a difference between being an incredible actor and being a superstar. Michal Shannon's role in Man of Steel is bigger than anything Wright has done.No bigger than Michael Shannon, maybe in yo house lol. Shannon is known for boardwalk empire, wright is known for shaft and cadillac records. Y'all tripping on Jeffrey wright not being a super star. I think some of you brehs just ain't familiar with his movies or his awards. He co stared in shaft as that crazy ass Puerto Rican drug kingpin peoples, (yea re-watch the movie, that Latino is him). Dude played like every race under the sun. He played muddy waters in cadillac records, my man even played Dr king AND Colin Powell...he been in 2 bond movies, y'all straight sleep on his acting chops.

Great actor, but dude's performances don't receive as much attention as Shannon's.
Shannon is an Academy Award nominee that was the main villain in one of the highest grossing flicks of the year.

Breh, all you gotta do is type in Jeffrey Wright awards or look at his Wikipedia page to see how many awards my man has own, let alone nominated for.
let's be real...Hollywood don't exactly play fair with people of color, so of course in a lot of people eyes he is less famous. Black movies, no matter how good can barely get over a 4.0 on imdb and other sites. I ain't tryna get into no racial debate, but are you really gon act like the playing field is leveled for browns and blacks in Hollywood
. Justin Bieber, Amanda Bynes, Lindsey Lohan, Miley cyrus, even Snooki is more famous than Wright, and they ain't really done shyt, so that whole get more attention discussion is 
. I'm just saying, me, my people, my family, coworker, etc...knew Wright way before we knew Shannon. Hell even HBO hyped up season 3 based on Wright making an appearance.

I had to look up his page so I wouldn't be talking out of my ass lol. But he has won 11 different awards including a tony, an Emmy, and a golden globe. So, by Hollywood standards he is a superstar, he just ain't a superstar to people who don't spend money on drama movies cuz they dont know about him.
I love drama/crime movies, so wright is more famous to me and probably to people who like the same genres, just like Shannon may be more famous to other people who like scifi and action fans.
But to say Wright ain't a superstar....ima have to flat out disagree wit you my targset brethren

That's fine and dandy and all, but he's still not this superstar that you're making him out to be. And Black Reel award winner does not match up well with an Academy award nominee
Jeffrey Wright is a reliable character actor in the same league as the Stanley Tucci's of the world. Nothing more, nothing less.

I've been up on Wright for a while, and like I said, he's an incredible actor. But just as far as fame goes, people are far more familiar with Michael Shannon. Man of Steel is easily more popular than anything Jeffrey Wright has done thus far. Wright is a superstar when it comes to skill, but he's not a literal superstar like a Denzel or Jamie Foxx.
