basketball, baseball, soccer are the sports I would prefer to see my future son perform in. Longer money and longer career without any significant health risks from playing those sports.

football and hockey tho :camby:Too violent and the money is short. NFL has the weakest player's union in the big four professional sports leagues. They treat their players like vulgar, common cattle and former NFL players suffer from severe health problems well after retirement.
Yup. If I have a son he can play whatever sport he wants besides football

Bo did struggle with off speed pitches, but when that n1gga caught hold of a fastball.... :banderas:

While many like to mention that his MLB numbers were overrated, I do like to think that if he had been 100% focusing on baseball, he could have had a HOF career. But that wouldn't have sold. I grew up around that time and for Nike, it could be argued that Bo's star was almost as big as MJs. I was always :russ: at n1ggas who tried to say that Deion Sanders was on Bo's level... Niga was a slap hitting outfielder with speed and noodle armed defense. Bo was outchea routinely hitting 450 ft moonshots, running down balls and gunning nigas from the warning track (word to Harold Reynolds)

Anyone who thinks Deion was on Bo's level as a baseball player is an idiot

I've said this before. I knew the sport was dangerous when I was 14. You know the toll early. Any oldhead pretending like they didn't know there'd be long term consequences is full of shyt.
I played the game since I was 4....when I was 12 I already knew what the consequences could possibly be....I fukked up my knee in college and it will never be the same but I would still play the game....no regrets....

You knew about CTE at age 14 huh :comeon:
Dr. Omalu owe you a shout out then breh

Every professional sport leaves your joints and ligaments fukked up......these people are talking about CTE SPECIFICALLY (obviously)
None of us knew concussions lead to long term brain damage as recent as 2005
It was legit :ohhh:

The first time I played organized football I was 13. The first time I played as a starter I was 14. You don't need a doctor to study a sport for years to understand what kinda damage it's doing. I just paid attention to myself for those first 2 years. Here's the first symptoms where I figured I need to name a price at that point and get out early. again, I was 14:
- After my first game as a starter I was so sore I actually couldn't leave my bed the entire next day
- By the end of the season it took 5 or 6 days to recover (if some of y'all could see how helpless players are the day after you'd understand)
- The first time I was unconscious on the field I was 14. They picked me back up, slapped me on the ass, and told me to keep playing. That literally made me think they didn't care about my safety so I needed to fend for myself.
- I couldn't really move my shoulders for months after the season ended.

So at 14 I made a plan:
No more tackling with my head. I worked on technique to always use my shoulders and hands. I was ok with sacrificing my shoulders for contact because I could always get them back to normal. I was taller than more people I tackled so I could use my height to avoid head contact if I used my hands as a way to get first contact then drive with my feet. Also, I figured out early if you break down when running up to an RB they usually tend to do the same so I was never really doing full speed tackles much until college......that said, it is still football so it wasn't a perfect plan. One day I hit a guy so hard my right eye was looking in the wrong direction (up and to the right.....my left eye was still looking straight. yes. I knocked myself cockeyed. full blown jack thriller) and I literally couldn't see straight for 10 minutes. I kept blinking and my eye slowly started moving back into place. Later, a doctor told me I didn't something horrific to one of my orbital muscles. It's shyt like that where if you're paying any sort of attention you know.
:mindblown: How old are you? Bo is 52 a totally different time its this happens all the time where things are much more dangerous then people know until they get the data back for a long period of time. It was a time 50 years ago that people didnt think seat belts where important until Ralph Nader pushed for them. Hell they use to make certain clothing out of mercury such as hats lol.

I'm 35. We didn't have concussion protocols. We had a doctor that asked you your name, address, and literally held up fingers. When people got concussions we used to laugh at how much shyt they forgot. I didn't like the thought of the stupid/forgetful feeling never going away. I never trusted doctors to tell me the right thing because I saw how much they ignored so someone could get back on the field.

I wouldn't take none of shyt back either though. It was a fun sport. I just knew that no one in it cared about my well being so I tried to play in a way that sorta kinda protected me.

That was proven false in court, what year was it when you were 14?

1994. That court shyt was a money grab. Those same cats that said doctors weren't honest were the same ones ignoring doctors when they said not to play because of something. Any OG that was honest would warn you. Chuck Muncie used to talk with us at Cal and give us the real. He's a HOF in my book. He was one of the first old heads that would tell you straight up that the game had a cost.

:yeshrug: its true.. and Deion is one of my favorite players of all time... but Bo was a better baseball player. If Deion could get on base more, with his skillset, he would dominate.

Average numbers proved otherwise :camby:
