has alot to do with the migration..

The Great Migration: Creating a New Black Identity in Los Angeles

AA Museum of History in Exposition Park, has alot of info on that subject in particular..
Yea I know about the migration. But I was talking exclusively about the west side. Cause many from the migration moved to Watts and south central, which had thriving communities with rich culture but for some odd reason the westside had gotten the stigma for being boujie and privilaged ...they call baldwin hills the black beverly hills for example.

My dad is from NOLA. Creole. During the venice canal system this community moved west to west la to build it. basically think of a bunch of nikkas that look like ice t. They earned a lot of money and many moved up to the hills. they did a lot of pawging as well. Some absorbed the belizians too.

This is why the west side is perceived as 'softer' more of hustling than griminess. The women seen more on the dainty side, the men as well lol

I remember everyone on here saying dj mustard took bay areas sound

I kept asking dudes to post some joints for comparison

They kept dodging the question

When they finally posted the songs they sounded NOTHING like mustard beats lol
But this thread is about Blueface. I saw two nikkas in here give you like ten songs of nikkas that sound like Blueface in terms of beats and you never replied to them .And actually DJ Mustard was on everyday struggle and admitted his beats were similar to the Bay because he's from Cali

:dame::why::dame:

He not light skinned he the same color as me and pharrell. just medium brown.

And he a westside crip. westside is the pretty boy hustler side of LA

I will admit that our side has an unusual amount of light skinned and hazel eyed black folks. 1/4 of my elementary (baldwin) were light brites with hazel eyes. Our side of the city were known for having the pretty boujie females. and not the light brites but the caramel browns with slim thick body and well done hair. I grew up around females that looked like Jada growing up :noah:

I have a theory on why black folks in this part of the city look diff but that's for another thread.

Baldwin Hills got a few grimey patches too..

thats what alot of people dont get about LA.. when they think LA.. they think typical Compton, Watts, Crenshaw & of course Hollywood.. its a really diverse city.. and, you are correct about east/west sides..

i lived in LA early 2000s, and Black folks were rocking Vans.. SBs, DCs..

majority of skateboard shops & boutiques, were eating off shoe & apparel sales.. and, it wasnt coming from skateboarders..
Wasn't no hood nikkas in LA rockin vans before The Pack put em on the scene.

I wouldn't call the jungles Baldwin. I only call the actual hill baldwin. i guess la brea and coliseum could be seen as grime but that's only cause its them cats from the jungles shopping zone. It gets all mixed up over there where wealthy and grimey black folks all come to one area to shop lol..

My mom lived in the hood mixed with Mexicans (18 and geer) my dad lived in the hills. 1 uncle on my mom side lives in the jungles other uncle is in gloria homes. Grandpa lives behind world on wheels school yard crip hood where blue face from. Pops rents a duplex on venice. I'm a westside nikka lol

I don't care about being relevant. But if we know a wave started in our region, we are allowed to be proud of that. I just used the word "wave", I would never get mad at a NY nikka for telling me that slang word was created in New York.

And that would be so corny imo

Guess that’s why we see this differently :yeshrug:
