And at the same time, Americans are bombarded with fast food, processed food, unhealthy food, 40 + hour work weeks, and a long list of shyt that causes stress.
This country as a whole leads an unhealthy lifestyle. Hospitals and doctors take advantage of it and over charge. If you have insurance, they overcharge even more because the insurance pays for most of it. So insurance companies have to increase premiums.
There really needs to be a national healthcare system, but you would also have to change the food industry as well. Obesity, high blood pressure and other heart related diseases are a direct cause of poor health. We are a car dependent country, so auto related hospitalizations are high compared to other countries. This country loves guns so you have a higher number of gun related hospitalizations.
Basically, this country does everything it can to force you to need medical care, and doesn't want to subsidize it at all because it's too profitable.
This incoming administration about to have a field day with quid pro quo for these companies looking to run roughshod over the public. Hopefully yall have some funds stacked!!
