This is another case of the "I can't see beyond myself and my opinions and acknowledge the rest of the world" mindset that too many people have these days.

Thank YOU !!! like anyone was clamouring for an Ant Man flick and here are close to a trilogy.. so i dont know why people act like if shyt aint dope people wont watch it, especially if it's attached to a ''cinematic universe'' of sorts

One of the biggest, for sure. The Fast and Furious got as big as they are on the back of the Latinx and Black communities, if I recall.

If Blue Beetle really embraces Jaime's heritage in a way that feels authentic, the movie is definitely gonna blow up.

Talking to me about bullshyt, man I'm in my 30s I grew up with Ted, I got paper back comics in my case upstairs with Ted.

I'm a Ted Kord fan but I wouldn't delude myself into thinking he would be the center of a movie. Best case scenario is a reference as a dead hero. They've been pushing Jaime since Smallville was on tv.

They have a mildly popular Latino character that they are developing a movie around to try and take advantage of the Latino moviegoing market who are ravenous for content that is marketed specifically to them and features one of their own.
Not sure how that is throwing shyt at the wall to see what sticks.

ted Kord is the Blue Beetle for most people.

More people saw the Reyes version of Blue Beetle on Smallville, Young Justice, and Brave and the Bold than probably know who the Ted Kord character even is. And I am a huge Ted Kord BB fan.

@ suggesting Ted Kord is on the same level as Peter Parker, Bruce Wayne, or even Eddie Brock. Ted was a D-List character known primarily for being a Justice League spinoff, and then in the versions of the main Justice League that no one liked. Hell, a lot of his fans didn't even care that much about him before Maxwell Lord gave his brain a view of the room.

Outside of a select group of fans, most people don't have the same attachment to Ted as Beetle that they do with, say, Peter and Spider-Man because before Jaime most people had no attachment to Blue Beetle period. A quick look at the Blue Beetle character since Jaime's introduction.

All "Blue Beetle" comics: Jaime Reyes is the star, Ted makes appearances or is totally absent.
Batman: The Brave and the Bold: Jaime Reyes is the main Blue Beetle and one of the main supporting characters; Ted appears in like 2 episodes
Smallville: Jaime Reyes, no Ted
Teen Titans animated movies: Jaime Reyes, no Ted
Young Justice: Jaime Reyes. Ted dies off screen before the second season even starts.
Injustice: Jaime is a playable character in the sequel. Ted only appears in the comics (and he's dead).
Justice League Action: Jaime Reyes. No Ted.
DC Superhero Girls: Jaime Reyes. No Ted.

Sorry breh, but Jaime has completely usurped the role of Blue Beetle.

Agreed. The Jaime we saw in young justice half a decade ago is as perfect of a cinematic superhero as you can get. Pretty much Ironman + Homecoming + Coco, with space aliens. It has potential to crush.

Really a no brainer, and i was somewhat surprised this wasn't announced back when announcing black, brown, and female heroes first became the wave by these slow backwards ass hollywood execs.
