If you managed to beat Laurence you can handle the chalices for the most part. Still gonna be some hard fights there though.
bullshyt, nobody can handle cursed, fetid & rotten chalices on they own...:russ:

Well, I went ahead and finished. Beat Micolash (running bytch) and the Wet Nurse both on my 2nd try (Micolash shoulda been first, but I fell off a ledge looking for him and fell to my death :comeon:).

Took me a few tries to get Gehrman, but I put the Blades of Mercy to work on his ass, then fought the Moon Presence. Tried to stick with the Blades, died 3 or 4 times, switched to Ludwig's Sword transformed, and beat it in like 2 minutes. SMH.

Guess it's time for me to start making some of these Chalice Dungeons. I fukking love this game brehs. Thanks to all y'all that chimed in with some tips (especially the "go offline, get to Chime Maiden spawn, come back online and kill her" technique in the Nightmare's). Much appreciated. :salute:

I gotta be honest I dont know if I can finish this game brehs, Amgydala has been whipping my ass up and down the street whenever I play it and I think the only other thing I can do is try to push through the other area but the frenzy stuff keeps fukking me up. Am I even near the end/.

Yes, you're near the end. Amygdala is in the Nightmare Frontier, which I'm pretty sure is optional. You have to do the Nightmare Mensis though, and depending on what you pick with Gehrman, that can basically be the end of the game. There are 2 bosses in the Mensis, though one is pretty easy, you just have to chase his ass around before he corners himself in a room.

As far as Amygdala, I beat it by basically staying inside. I stayed near it's legs and hacked away the whole time (though my sword is beast status, so that helped I'm sure). Usually I'll go look up the boss info after I beat it, and I didn't even know that it rips it's arms off and swings 'em at you because I was so close to it the whole time.

Congrats breh. Now you get to have fun trying out new weapons, maybe a new build and running through this game now that you know what's what.

Did you remember to kill the brain in the Nightmare Mensis and do the "make contact" sign after killing it? :lupe:

I did. I've been messing around with the Burial Blade (+9) that you can buy after beating Gehrman. It's beastly. I've also experimented with the Rakuyo (+9) some too. I wanna try and go through without using Ludwig's Sword (+10, has all my strongest gems on it, which makes it a monster weapon) as much, so we'll see how that goes. I'm not sure if I can give up the Blade of Mercy (+10...love this weapon man), and I'll probably still use the Saw Spear (+9, with Fire Gem) on the Beast bosses (already used it to kill the Cleric Beast again, then again during Father G's 2nd form).

I figure I can focus on Arcane/Skill, and go with the Burial Blade in one slot and the BoM in the other. I also wanna mess around with the Moonlight Sword, but gotta push my strength up a bit more. I'm so used to Ludwig's Sword, that it's gonna be weird not using it.

I created my first chalice, and so far the enemies are easy as shyt. I walked into a room, and a Giant "boss" immediately jumped at me. I hit it once with the BoM, and it died. I guess I shouldn't complain, considering I know what's eventually coming, with the horror stories I've read in here from some of y'all.

I never got help in the chalices
LIke I said, there are regular chalices and there are cursed chalices. Cursed chalices are damn near impossible on your own.

Playing on New Game+ I zipped through to the Nightmare's pretty quick, which is where I'm currently at (just ahead of Micolash fight). Just ran through most areas to the bosses (didn't fight the 2 in Upper Cathedral Ward or Amygdala as of yet. Will probably skip them). I had the most trouble with the stupid Shadows of Yharnam. The dude that throws the fireballs was fukking me up, but I got 'em after a few tries. Everything else (up to the DLC) has been first or 2nd try. I think on my next playthrough I'm gonna go a little more traditionally, so I can get my Bloodtinge level up to a decent spot.

Speaking of Old Hunters, I decided to go through it again for the hell of it (minus Laurence of course. fukk him).Just beat Ludwig. Took me awhile to get him. I had his first phase down fine, but he kept chopping me to death with that damn Moonlight Sword. Then I found his blind spot. When you get in close, and get him to start spam-swinging/slamming the sword, if you can get to his side and/or behind him (which isn't the easiest thing to do tbh), he'll swing a couple times but not be able to hit you. You'll get hit a few times unless your timing is perfect, but as long as you get there, you can heal then get some licks in. Once I figured that out, I beat him immediately. You can even stun/visceral him if you hit him (with your weapon, not gun) at the right time while he's trying to swing. I got 2 on him in that phase (though I missed the 2nd one, which woulda killed him, but got him right after anyways). Fight was frustrating, but in a fun way. Can't wait to see how hard he hits on the next playthrough.
