These names are nowhere near as prominent as Mike Brown, Freddie Gray, Eric Garner, Trayvon Martin, John Crawford, Akai Gurley, Walter Scott, and Tamir Rice. So again, if those trans individuals are the real focus of BLM movements and not the names I mentioned, they're doing a horrible job.
That was Assata's Daughters, not BLM.
It was a coalition of BLM Chicago, Assata's Daughters, BYP100, and FLY. BLM was involved.
No, the policing and judicial systems must be abolished.
OK I respect that. But then the same critique applied to Assata's Daughters as well then, right?

In hindsight, this means absolutely nothing if it produces no readily tangible results.

All BLM offers is protest.
No efforts towards educational reform
No efforts towards building or supporting black businesses
No efforts towards promoting a black economy
No efforts towards realistic law reform that holds police officers accountable for their actions
No real advocacy of lobbying politicians that will readily support the black cause.

Just protest
Twitter hashtag movements
And nothing else.

Shining light on an issue means nothing if everything else is still in the dark.
I don't think it means absolutely nothing, but I agree, it is not a holistic approach which is why I don't expect BLM to solve the issue of White Supremacy. I think there have been tangible gains, but it doesn't appear to be a comprehensive movement.

Instead of trying to demonize a group, let's look at their successes as well. To make this fair and even.

Black Lives Matter Movement Notches Major Win In Chicago Race

Black Lives Matter Notches Wins in Chicago and Cleveland | Mother Jones

But hey lets go after our own.:yeshrug:

I have no problem with Deray. It's a win for black people irregardless of whether Deray is gay. On the other hand BLM is still not about "trans, disabled, etc" folks. It's just about black people, primarily men and women. :manny:

We have a non american in this thread speaking on Afram issues. Please stop talking about things not relevant to you and worry about your own homosexual pursuit of happiness

One thing you and white supremacy have in common is a disregard of border laws.

“We’re police and prison abolitionists, so we never are here to support the head prosecutor of the state, whose job, in my eyes, is to incarcerate black people.” Raser and Assata’s Daughters hope that one day, the massive amounts of money that fund local police and jails get invested in services for poor communities, especially poor black ones.

It is very telling.

Society wants the straight black man to go into extinction...

Yeup, next phase of our holocaust is gonna be the soft shoe genocide. They want black women to wench/dyke as much as possible. And they want black men COMPLETELY out the picture (more than they've already directly caused).

Notice these liberal cacs are also ALWAYS bringing up "overpopulation" in "developing countries"
:mjpls:
The same way those Khazars in Israel were sterilizing Ethiopian women, the cacs here are trying to sterilize black men.

:whoa: :damn:attrazine pesticides, GMO food, BPH plastics, Soy products :damn::whoa:

But they face a host of other social and legal hurdles that straight black men do not. If we refuse to acknowledge this, then the gains made by any pro-black movement will necessarily exclude issues faced by a portion of the black community. This is the point of intersectional studies.

It's only a zero sum game if you believe gay blacks are not a part of the black community, or that promoting tolerance of LGBT individuals is somehow destructive to the black community.

What specific legal & social hurdles does a gay black man face compared to myself as a straight black man?

Nobody is denying that gay men & women aren't a part of the community. What I don't understand is why they're focusing on such a small percent of the population just to turn it into a gay rights thing?

Tamir Rice, Sandra Bland, Eric Garner, Mike Brown and Treyvon Martin didn't get killed because of their sexual preferences.

At the beginning of mean streets
If you're black then you're part of the black community.
But, you have to ask yourself, why are gay and effeminate black men put to the forefront? We don't even see family orientated, straight, black women at the forefront.
Because we are "implicit" in black men's apparent power in subjugating black women. Even if they show family oriented black women, they're more than likely not married to black men.

Critique of their actions, not their ideology. I respect their teleological differences, but they joined a coalition of organizations dedicated to the ouster of Alvarez, so if the actions of BLM-C within that coalition were inconsequential, so were Assata's Daughters. And from what I understand, the coalition wasn't so much pro- Kim Foxx as it was anti-Anita Alvarez.

You think you're funny, but you're not.
Why are you so supportive of a group that doesn't have your best interests at heart?
Who you fukk at home is your business...your skin being your sin is our business as a whole as far as the opposition is concerned. Lifestyle freedom and racial freedom do NOT intersect.
