Gotta get creative.and And Anfernee Simmons is an interesting young player

People keep mentioning all the trade assets that Portland has when the majority of their roster outside of a few players are on expiring deals. Unless they package Simons in any of those deals (I wouldn't), they don't really have anything else that they can do that can help move the needle for them.

Wait what? I thought they loved CJ. (Also CJ strikes me as one of the guys who will either be on TV or the sidelines after he retires) I definitely didn’t know that wow.
People like CJ but any real blazers fan knows CJ & Dame should have been split up a few seasons ago. Dislike /hate isn’t the word. He’s basically overvalued for his contract. If CJ was making norm Powell money then cool, it wouldn’t be that big a deal because we’d have some money to get a decent wing, but with CJ making in the same market as Dame, with less output then that’s where the true conflict arises. Even if we wanted to keep CJ and Dame, CJ’s contract makes it hard for another player to be there.

Trading Gary Trent Jr was a really bad move.
Depends there’s a weird log jam, because Trent would have to play the 3, but Nas also plays the 3. Nas and Simons didn’t really get many in game reps last season . But the reality is, Nas and Simons have a great future trajectory. It’s a bit more complicated then what it seems. From the Jump they’ve been saying Simons is like a younger Lillard. So right off the bat CJ is gone.

The only way you keep GTJ is if you blow up the squad in the off-season.

It’s why I don’t necessarily blame Philly if they wanting a pick or two from Portland if they were to trade for CJ.

Neil wasn’t open to trading CJ, but a lot people wanted Neil to make that move.

I don’t understand his insistence on being stubborn when it was obvious that they needed to completely revamp the team. When I heard the statement he made in my original comment, I just knew they were going to find a reason to get him out of there.

I guess the question now is will they make their findings public as I’m sure the media will try and get access especially coming off the Phoenix situation.

This basically guarantees Dame gets traded, right? Whomever the new GM is will be able to hit the reset button in a real way instead of the treading water situation that's happening there now.
The other guy will be traded

Didn’t he pass up PG13 to get Aminu :mjlol:

I think it was something like Portland offered 3 first round picks (non-lottery picks) and anyone on the roster not named Dame or CJ in exchange for PG13. The trade with OKC actually worked out for Indy as they got Dipo and Sabonis, so it's a good thing that they didn't take that offer.
