Her mother is Japanese, and her father is Black. She has always identified as Black.

This is why as of late I don't label biracial folks anything other than what they identify as. If she says she's black, well, she's black then. Too many people I've known throughout the years with white mothers and black fathers identified as black. Who am I to disagree with them.

It's not about policing anyone's blackness. My issue is people trying to profit of their blackness while also distancing herself from black people and trying to make them look bad at the same time. I don't approve of mixed raced people being selectively black at times when it suits them and then doing everything they can to ensure they aren't seen as black the rest of the time.

This woman for example didn't open a soul food restaurant and hire a bunch of black employee's and then advertise it as a black owned business.

She partnered with her italian husband/business partner and opened a pizza joint with all white employee's. decided to call it black owned to collect benefits meant to help minority owned businesses.
