@Gil Scott-Heroin I guess we about to start this again :takedat: an efficient 33 with no ref baiting. And if KPJ didn't dominate the rock in the 4th no telling how many Green would have ended up with.

And the wins will come in time MJ didn't win Chips until 6 or 7 yrs in. Kobe came into a great situation with a MVP caliber player already on his squad and it still took him 4 yrs.

Green and the Rockets are on the right path. But Silas has to be better too ie staggering Green and KPJ's minutes, making in game defensive adjustments, defining the roles on offense and giving them structure.

When it comes to championships, you got to look at the bigger picture because teams are too stacked right now to be "the main piece":

The main thing to ask is that if you have Green on a stacked team is can they win a championship? What that comes down to is: can he be a match-up problem, can he carry if need be, can he spread the floor, can he commit to defense and can he be efficient on and off-ball?

From what I've seen, nothing indicates that to not be the case for any of these use cases. The dude is a legit knockdown shooter and not simply a rhythmic/streaky one (although he has a nuclear switch) and he can put a defense in disarray with his handling and attacking. Those are what you need from your goto scorers on a title team, like when Curry and Luka go into carrying mode.

Last night down 5 with under a minute to go,he had the ball at the end of the clock on the perimeter and passed off to Sengun. I’d don’t like that but he still progressing

I think KPJ was doing too much down. The stretch

Also Jabari not hitting shots yet that would have been a dub

Yeah Green got to take the shot in the future. I think the pass to Sengun was a pure "basketball decision" (was wide open at three and put his hands up for the ball), but at that point you got to get the go-ahead. Dude is too good of a shooter to pass that up.

From my original post I said they need him to be the go to scorer late like Curry and Luka are - two other players like Green who have big confidence in their shots. It'll come in time.

First part is why I wish he would stagger Jalen with someone else more. JG should’ve had 40 last night man with a PG who recognizes who’s the hot hand.

Again, you’d have to have NO eye for talent whatsoever (like @Gil Scott-Heroin level stupidity) to not see the superstar potential in this kid. This is not hard at all lol. Even when he got off to a slow start last year, the flashes were always there. But when you rely on advanced metrics to tell you who is good instead of actually watching basketball (let alone comprehending what you’re watching), you couldn’t see talent if it bytch slapped you :mjlol:

42 3P% at that volume (about 8.7 3PA/game) is insanely good. That's not even counting the pre-season numbers where dude put up similar numbers from 3 (43%) at the same rate (nearly 8 shots). That's basically the Bane, Kyrie and Kennard tier.

End of the day though, Houston got a pretty stacked young core outside of Jalen moving forward: Sengun, KPJ, Tari, etc. They're all players that should be getting the ball as well.

Dude is going to have insane games this year, but building up the team should always be the priority as that'll only make his job easier. They need to play that KPJ, Green, Tari, Jabari, Sengun line-up way more than they do because it provides a really good balance of space and defense. Only problem is you need at least one or two of them on the court at all times because that bench got no reliable offense outside of Jaygup (hopefully Tyty can boost some).
