No Whammies!!
To be honest, I think the original Twitter post is actually true in a literal sense.

I think X-Men could have been made without blade, but I think The Avengers probably wouldn't have been made without X-Men.

I think Blade maybe influenced other types of rated R action movies (Matrix, Equilibrium, John Wick) more than it did for the MCU.

To go back to my own post, the more I think about it the more I believe John Wick would not have been made without Blade.

The whole "assassin's underground" idea seems to be inspired by Blade's vampire underground.

Edit:
Just found a quote from the John Wick director:
“If the opportunity ever came, the one that really jumps out to me would be like ‘Blade,’” the filmmaker said. “If they were going to redo ‘Blade’ or something like that, just because I feel that one, for some reason, the vampire martial art action vibe. That would be a cool one to stretch and try and reinvent.”

Yup. Marvel didn't even publicly get behind Blade until the 3rd. These people are just repeating something they heard.

But I agree, the X-Men movie was coming no matter what. It started in mid-90s, but I do agree with poster that Spawn derailed it in the schedule. Spider-Man was also coming no matter what. Without X-Men/Spidey, Avengers doesn't get made. Blade alone still doesn't do it. Matrix is definitely more influenced by Blade than the X-Movies.

Around Blade, you have Spawn, Batman & Robin, Steel, Nick Fury TV movie, Power Rangers 2...and most of MCU movies are closer to the 90's Superhero style and temperament.

People don't think about Blade as a comic book movie, so I understand people forget in the conversation. It's like Who Framed Roger Rabbit, dikk Tracy or Men In Black.

Punisher predates blade. Seems most forget that. But yes, blade is the modern key to it all tho his movies didnt use marvel same way others did. Its kinda not the same but ill let yallcook. Most people didnt even know blade was a marvel character.

Xmen and spiderman are really the first on that time. Even first punisher wasnt marveled out it was standalone like blade.

And lets stop fronting

HULK started this shyt. All of it. Had eps with daredevil, thor and captain america. That was the FIRST modern version of whatvthe mcu is.

First two Blade movies were great. Like there is no way you are not having good time watching those two films

The third movie was a complete shyt show. Suffers from the same fate as Matrix Revolutions, Godfather 3, etc. Just a boring movie to sit through.

Big up to Ryan for giving Snipes his flowers. Over the years, people have tried to downplay Wes's contributions to the character.
