Seriously. Just let the shyt go. Let Spike cook, Boots and Boots you cook. nikkas always gotta turn against themselves and dice everything up which is exactly what people want us to do. We fall for that shyt every time

:mjlol:

this site is full of idiots

Show me where Tyler Perry did something as bad as creating a narrative where someone who worked for cointelpro was ACTUALLY a hero to black people, smart guy:mjlol:.Then I want you to explain why NYPD paid Spike 200K to do a ad campaign, and why Spike took the money.
Give me anything other than "Bu bu but we can't say anything about Spike because he's a legend". Those Knicks tickets don't pay for themselves, this is two in a row now. Spike is a smart guy, that much I know. He knew damn well what he was doing with Chiraq and this KKKlansman movie.

Hmm I was deciding which one to see tomorrow that or blackkklansman

I'll probably see Blindspotting since it made significantly less and will likely be out of cinemas soon

Im not saying Spikes movie wasnt entertaining but Blindspotting was far more effective in its social commentary without being preachy and was entertaining/funny.

Boots Riley is on some crabs in the barrell mentallity bullshyt. And you either are dumb enough to believe this AFTER seeing BlackKklansman or just take what he said as truth despite not seeing for yourself. Spike Lee's film make it VERY CLEAR, with emphasis that this is more anti-cop than pro. The only "good cop" was Stallworth in this film. Even his Jewish partner by accepting the corruption within the police force is a bit complicit. I dunno what movie Boots Riley saw, but the fact that EVEN when Stallworth saved his girlfriend's life, she still on fukk the pigs and dumped him BECAUSE he was a cop. Their police chief was shown as a racist that fukked Stallworth over in the end. The police force itself weren't at painted as the good guys. Only Stallworth because he went on his own to start an investigation against the klan. That make it clear that wasn't the entire police force priority, especially when they made Stallworth to be assigned as security for Duke.

Boots Riley is hating. As if we cannot have TWO socially conscious films by two black directors within the same summer.

I'mma chalk this up to Boots (and Spike) both being Late-40s and up. That generation didn't even make a surface attempt to do the whole Black/Entertainment Solidarity thing. None of those older nikkas seem like each other, from Spike to Singleton to Perry to Daniels etc. From what I've seen these dudes don't even really acknowledge each other, much less connect, collab and build.

If, for example, Klansman was just Peele and STBY was, say, Lakeith or Glover behind the camera, this wouldn't be happening. Those older nikkas are still playin' by Highlander, there can only be one rules.

At least that's how I'm seeing it.
