i used to like sheryl as a comedian, but she got to go. but fucc her imma keep rocking my natural, and imma continue to put heat on my daughters hair. braids pull out the hair so imma do what it takes manage my childs hair.

I'm referring to the ones that date black people. I have a white co-worker that is engaged to a black woman and he says he does not want his girl to wear weave and prefers the natural look. Most white women with mixed or full black kids do not perm their hair. They tend to keep it natural more than black women do their own children.

Those that hate us...hate us whether we have weave or no weave so its hard to really consider their opinion.

A black women would be the first one trying to damage her mixed kids hair with dangerous chemicals before a white women would. One of my mom's friends had a daughter with her white now ex-husband and the girl is 10 and she always has her hair straightened. shyt is disgusting. My ex-GF's dad was white and she was the same way. Never wanted to rock the natural curly hair goddess style

It's because Afro-textured hair requires more attention as it tends to be more dense, coarse/kinky, and shrinks (so length isn't always what it seems). The thing is, black people knew how to care for their hair (in many different styles) before the white man came in destroyed our morale completely. It's generational. Then came the hot comb, the creamy crack, weaves. If ya grandma don't know how to care of her hair how you gon expect anythin of this generation? A lot of black women don't know how to care for their hair because of it's texture (and the insecurity that comes with it) so they slap a weave on top of it which causes traction alopecia, hair thinning, and hair loss and not to mention it looks fukking ridiculous. If you have Afro-textured hair, take care of ya hair underneath (esp. if you tryna grow it) and at least wear some weave that matches your natural hair texture. Weave is in India, edges is in Africa smh.

this is because them white women have no clue what to do with a black girl's hair. and they damn sure ain't hitting up a black hairdresser to ask for help.

let's not get it twisted, society has done a shamefully effective job of convincing whites and blacks that our natural hair isn't beautiful. too ethnic they say.


any hairstyle properly maintained looks good. as long as you rock what fits you. that goes for natural, permed, weave, wig whatever. i have my preferences, but i know black women are judged on their hair more than anyone else so as long as they try i salute.
