Again......Latifah was against it as well. The question I'm asking is what happened to the fight against calling calling Black women bytches?

Fighting it was a good thing. Accepting it was a bad thing. Why did the Blackwomen just accept it is what I'm asking.

They didn't "just accept it". They fought and fought and fought but their voices weren't as powerful or widespread as the voices of those who they were fighting against. They fought and they lost to the Black male rappers who disrespected Deloris Tucker and all of the other Black women in our community.

I suspect he would disagree with your assertion that Black women are somehow to blame for Black men incessantly calling them bytches and making it a part of hip hop culture.

:francis:

I never blamed them tho...u just made that up.

I asked why did they accept it. Big difference.

Dude...are you being serious or not?

Where's Eves "My Black Women" song? So when Trina refered to herself as the "Baddest bytch" she wasnt acknowledging she's a Black Woman saying that? When Missy called herself a "Bytch" in her 2nd albums 1st single she wasnt acknowledging she's a Black Woman saying that?

We knew "bytches aint shyt" was a response to Roxanne Shantes "Brothers Aint Shyt" way before she said it on Vlad.....If Roxanne Shante is specifying "brothers" u really think Snoop and Dre just skipped over that? :stopitslime:

In Missy's case, when she used the term, she wasn't acknowledging that she was a Black Woman saying that. The song emphasized "She's" as opposed to asserting it in first person. It's pretty much her addressing people calling her that for different reasons. There's an interlude on the album that addresses it, but it's Lil' Kim addressing as opposed to Missy Elliott herself saying it.

I dont remember any of these Black women fighting shyt when a song refering to them as bytches came on.

Are you saying that Black women would stop dancing and protest whenever a Snoop record came on?

:laff:

When was this?

They accept it for the same reason we accept members of our own community selling drugs to members of our community and subsequently destroying our community. The battle become too big for them to win so they gave in.

That's not what I'm suggesting at all, this was a long and ongoing fight. They paired these derogatory terms with great music, this is why it was damn near impossible for women to fight against the proliferation of rappers calling women bytches in their music.

Again, you're attempting to blame the women when the Black men had all the power to put an end to this.

This response has nothing to do with the question asked in OP. I'm talking about the Black Women who accepted being called a bytch and u talking about something else.

C. Delores Tucker and Dionne Warwick were at the forefront fighting against misogyny in rap during the 90’s.

In a fukked up way rap is equal opportunity of getting talked down on if you wanna take it literal.
The same nikka that calls a woman a bytch, is calling a dude a bytch nikka, broke and boastin about fukkin his girl in the next verse:yeshrug:.

I'm talking about the same thing

To make it more clear it's b!tches that accept it and call themselves b!tches...

There's a lot of classy black Women that don't trip on rappers talking about b!tches because they know rappers ain't talking about them because they ain't a b!tch

Women use it as a term of endearment amongst one another. They say it louder and more frequently than men.

Men put the thought in their head, tho.End of the day, women reflect what they think we find desirable.

Niccaz say "DAMN! That's a bad bytch right there!:whew:"....Next thing you know, women are calling themselves the "baddest bytch".

Follow the fukking leader....the blind are going into a ditch. What's new?:yeshrug:

To be honest, that didn't start with hiphop. They (black men and women) were doing that in the blues and jazz world decades prior. 70 blaxploitation movies used it on film in the same fashion.

Yes....I actually do remember this. Thats why I posted Latifahs video. But what happened?

Why did they stop fighting? Thats the question I'm asking.
Women don’t have much power or influence in hip hop, like wtf? Welcome to patriarchy, it’s only been here since the dawn of time. :rudy:
