As someone who was born and raised in California, these women are putting extras on it!
First off, when people tell a story or their perspectives, they will usually do so that will make it look favorable on their side.
Next, let's dead the myth that Black men in California isn't dating/marrying Black women! It's a damn lie!
Most people, regardless of where they from or live, will be with someone from their respective ethnic group.
Granted, California may be a state where one may see a fair amount of IR couples than other states, but people need to factor in that California has a high population, yet a low Black population and the places which as a fairly decent Black population is concentrated in metropolises like L.A., S.F., S.D. and adjacent counties/cities...
Bottomline...
The women talking about needing to move outside of California to find a Black man is really talking about finding a specific type of Black man.
BTW, those same men they claim to look for also live in California, but either they don't see them or really isn't putting themselves out there to be seen by them, so the easiest way to deal with that is to move somewhere where there is a higher concentration of available Black men which will be in the Southern, Midwestern, Mid Atlantic and East Coast.
At the end of the day, a woman who really wants a man can find one. Will dude be everything she is looking for? Maybe not? Will she be everything these men are looking for? Maybe not?
But, what isn't true is that NO Black men on the West Coast is checking for Black women. Those women are probably real picky and being picky will limit options.
