It really is an I swear it got ramped use once that black family got into the White House.
You are right. It has always been there but it has been ramped up to incredible rates the last 8 years. I still say this is a direct result of the Obama family in the White House. There has been a constant attack on black men and women relationships with each other and with their kids. Along with the physical attacks against us in the streets and in news reporting.
But I am glad you are recognizing this in TV. Ask yourself this besides comedy shows like blackish and maybe a serious show like NCIS how many shows have a black couple (man and woman) that are together on the show? Well I guess empire but the relationship is so dysfunctional.
Anytime the only black relationships between a man and a woman (outside of TV1 and BET) that you see on TV is on reality shows something is wrong.

I called it when that show was in production. Before an episode was even shown I was like well the older sister gonna be married or dating a white boy and there will be a pretty sista on there that will date a non black and black dude will be on there that will be gay and date a white boy.

I can't even watch this nonsense now. Use to be able to turn on the tv and actually see black couples on shows. Them days long and gone unless you watching real housewives of Atlanta.

in my mind
- the new A Different World would be about HBCU life in 2015, it would tackle stuff that goes on today's world just the like the original show did.
-the new The Cosby Show would be about an upper-middle class black family lead by a intelligent positive masculine father figure and a intelligent feminine mother figure, who both have successful careers raising their children, while dealing with some issues in their community or in their own family just like the original Cosby Show.
i'm not even a screenwriter, my cousin actually is though 
the point is to help kids see positive things to make them want to achieve more in their lives, if they don't have it. plus maybe it would make more kids want to attend HBCUs

Go aheadi seen another video at Clark Atlanta University, where they got some women who said some reasonable things and others who said some dumb shyt. but the guys in that video are stereotypical and ignorant, they clearly didn't want a black male with intelligence speaking with them.
