That particular instance was a conscious effort to try to bring attention to the matter or something like that. I remember reading about it a few months back. Some people didn't like it, some peple thought it was a good idea.

Out here in my damn drawls
I would talk shyt about this, but I get it tho. My White and Asian classmates always used to ask me could they touch my fro and I was just like :wtf: :why:?

I'm talkin' about, they were genuinely excited and giggly about wanting to just stick their hands inside my fro :skip:

:mindblown:

:pachaha:

Basically they're tackling the fetishism and ownership over black bodies that white people display when they ask stupid questions like can I touch your hair. They're inviting them to touch their hair to educate them on afro-textured hair and the acceptance of that.

I'm pretty sure whites know the science of our hair, since they have been buying out black hair products and selling them since the 1980's.

Yeah it's supposed to challenge it basically. Anyone with an afro has probably felt that annoyance when too many non blacks and cacs be askin to touch ya hair.
