I don't see anything wrong with defending yourself and educating/addressing ignorance. She wasn't rude, she didn't insult anybody, she just stood up for herself.
to her and anyone else who's not afraid to stand up for themself.

I'm happy she stood up for her beliefs and rights. She responded to the comment in a cool, calm and respectful manner and had the right to do so. She should not have lost her job over it and has every right to sue, should she choose to go that route. I think we as black men forget that our sisters in high and prominent jobs have to deal with a unique brand of bullshyt, even when she responds in an intellectually salient manner and using her position to educate rather than denegrate, in a non confrontational manner (I'm channeling Art Barr ) and she loses her job. Only in Amerikkka.

Her hair is kinda short. I think she played the race card too early, could of said something like "I like this hair style" rather than saying anything about her being black.

The comment made mention of her race and her having short hair. She went into a tirade about conforming to European standards of beauty and being proud of her African American heritage. All that wasn't necessary to me. You can still be black and proud without making mention of it when the situation doesn't warrant it.

No reference was made to texture, just length so I just feel it wasn't necessary to talk about European standards of beauty or her African American background. Just my opinion. I do understand her position and why she may have responded the way she did, I just don't feel it was particularly necessary.
