So what's wrong with that?

Two Reasons.

1. The GoFundMe is misleading. It says it's for funeral and other expenses. But the funeral cost are already covered by the father and numerous celebrities have also offered to pick up the tab. Lee Merritt is listed as the organizer of the GoFundMe and not the actual family so all the money would go directly to him when it should go directly to the family first. Nobody donating knows how much he is taking for himself off the top cause it's not transparent.

2. The criminal case will tried by the DA. There are no legal cost for the victim and family here. Merrit is an ambulance chasing settlement lawyer. He will already make big money from any settlement which is all but guaranteed in cases like this. There is no need for the family to pay anything upfront. His legal fees will be covered and added into the settlement with the city and police dept.

Above the fray.
They all seem pretty normal to me. You probably should not judge people at a moment of grief and on top of that the shyt that they are going through is in public so they probably should be cut a lot of slack. People forget that at the end of the day that young lady was somebody that they all loved so of course they are hurting right now.
In light of what's occured since you posted this, do you still feel the same way?

Unfortunately, the region where I live has had a lot of these high profile cases of police murdering people. A LOT. An extreme tragedy like this usually brings families closer together, but a few times the family divisions and problems were exploited by outsiders (lawyers/reporters) and spilled into the public.

At this point, my thoughts will go out to the family. I hope that somebody has the presence of mind to put the young man in some sort of counseling. Nobody is going through more trauma than he is, having been there when his aunt was murdered.

A Villa Straylight.
I think we need to be the exception to the rule and love the hate away from everyone. If we love harder we can win
You realize that make create an opposite reaction right? The universe loves balance.
Domestic shyt, I got arrested cause I'm the man.

My BM got evicted so I let her move in so she wouldn't take my kids to a shelter. My new girl pissed as fukk. BM wasn't trying to work or nothing just thought I'd take care of her again, I told she gotta get the fukk out, all hell breaks loose.

I was in there in front of investigators, lawyers, judges. They was talking 7 years for felony strangulation but I wasn't going. Had 6 other charges on me. Thought I'd be dumb like fisrt 48.

They tried that angry Black man against the innocent white women shyt. NOT GOING. I've had a restraining order & called on her before like she did to me. & She was pissed & walked out of the room when the judge said they were releasing me.
White women are dangerous. Glad I only fukked with one and got out alive.

They're dangerous when you let them get the drop on you. After seeing family & other Black men go to jail I realized beat them at their own game. I believe in karma, give them the same energy white people give us.

I believe we need to police ourselves but until then, I'm calling on white people. None of that Black people should never call police. I'd be in fukking prison if I didn't play their game.

A judge actually brought up a different deal than I agreed to in court, not going. Told them we going to trial then. Dropped every charge but 1.

Judge Issues Publicity Restrictions In Trial Against Former Cop Who Fatally Shot Atatiana Jefferson

FORT WORTH (CBSDFW.COM) – The judge presiding in the case of a former police officer accused of killing a woman in a house in Fort Worth, has already issued publicity restrictions over concerns about what potential jurors may hear.

Judge David Hagerman ordered the restrictions even before a grand jury has decided whether to indict Aaron Dean for the murder of Atatiana Koquice Jefferson, 28, this month.

Hagerman’s order prevents anyone connected with the case from making statements about witnesses, evidence or any opinion about Dean’s guilt or innocence.

“The Court finds there is a possibility that jurors may be inadvertently exposed to prejudicial publicity if an order restricting publicity is not entered in this case,” he wrote.

The restrictions appear to mirror, almost word for word, publicity restrictions put in place by a judge in Dallas County during the trial against former officer Amber Guyger last month.

The exception to that is an additional restriction from Hagerman extending to “any lawyer who represents any witness or family member of the victim or defendant.”

That addition appears to be directed at civil rights attorney Lee Merritt, who has worked with extended members of Jefferson’s family after her death, and also Botham Jean’s family after he was shot by Guyger
