:dwillhuh:
Just show up on time. No need to get all metaphysical for why you're late as fukk.
I swear, I've never been to a show where the artist was hours late. Wtf? Maybe I'm just lucky.

Say I'm sorry for being late and to those who spent time and money to see me and I'll try to make it up to you in the future :scust::snoop:

I have to say the worst wait I've ever experience was 20-30 minutes at most. 2 hours late and only perform for 40 minutes? gtfo

How are we defining late? Artists have opening acts, so did she appear two hours after the last opening act? Or two hours after the time listed on the ticket? I went to a show once and she was the closing performance. The crew took 20 minutes to set the stage and then she took another 30 minutes to come out. It was real late by that point and by the time she came out females started leaving and boos errupted. Me and my homies looked at each other and said fukk it and left while she performed:damn:

EDIT: So apparently she didn't have an opening act and the fans were just waiting for two hours while the DJ continued to play Prince :damn:

If it's no secret that she consistently arrives late to her concerts, it's foolish to expect anything different than her showing up late. I don't like waiting for anything any longer than 30 minutes, therefore I wouldn't purchase a ticket to see an artist who is consistently late to her concerts, it's not rocket science.

She has burned so many bridges with promoters I'm amazed she even got a show in a major city like Atlanta. It takes a LONG time to rebuild trust with an audience as well as promoters. People see Nas doing all these club shows and think it's weird but in reality Nas has been rebuilding trust with promoters for years, and is now reaping some benefits. Once his album comes out he's going to go on a decent sized tour, something he probably wouldn't have been able to do a few years ago due to pissing people off with late or subpar shows.
Lauryn's been doing this fukkery for YEARS and I don't think she'll be able to recover.

Not surprised Kweli's corny ass is defending her. She disrespected her fans, period. As she has done for the last decade plus.

It's a shame. Once she got involved in that rasta cult it was a wrap. Now she's broke, can't really tour much, her vocal chords are shot, and very few musicians even want to work with her. Now is the PERFECT time for a Lauryn Hill to re-emerge with a politically charged album that hits the same mark as D'Angelo or Kendrick. But she can't do it because she's crazy and washed up,

What does she even perform anyway? :francis:

I have heard stories of her being strict with the bad and years prior being nasty so much former employees spoke about bringing charges on her.

But someone like Prince who played all those instruments i can understand being strict...what reason does Lauryn have? Its not like she is dome expert with instruments.

This may sound like s whitr supremacist talking point about rap....but i will never understand why she didnt stick solely to rap. I always learned when you are consistenly late to something you do not enjoy it. So the statement she just put out doesnt sound right. Bottom line she does not enjoy what she does. Which is fine but then stop doing it and having people waste their time.

Honestly, I get what you're saying but simply her best gift is her voice.

She seems to struggle mentally and shouldn't really perform but her voice sincerely is God given, rare.

People pay to hear it. Sad that she can't always deliver though.

Saw it for myself last year at One Musicfest here in Atlanta. Luckily, I paid to see the other acts on all the stages rather than her alone. (The Internet, The Roots, Big KRIT, Bun B, Scarface, Ball & G, Wale, etc)

The stoop with dat dope fanny padding
Artists and time...

Lupe Fiasco...

First act performed, and there was a 50+ minute delay until Lupe showed up. :upsetfavre:

But it was well worth it.
:wow:

Yeah I've been to dozens of concerts and the headliner is routinely an hour late. Still was worth it and back then we didn't have the technology we did with phones so people are just going thru their phones, waits aren't that bad... They'd be doing the same thing on their couch
