Not to try to wave my knowledge in your face but I spent 4 years in nursing school, I had to write reports on this stuff, I had to actually observe people locked in a mental institution and then go over their medical charts and write papers on what I observed...Are you a neuroscientist?
Can I see your degree?
The brain is like the universe or the deep sea.
Even though scientists and doctors have spent years researching it...we only know about 10% of what it's actually about.
Why do you think there are new studies each day about some new development or process in the brain that we didn't know before.
This is simple thinking...it's more COMPLEX then that!
I have studied Anatomy and Physiology for about 4-5 years...
I'm not just JOE BLOW with a guess, I'm taking what I've learned from books, observation, and my own life experiences...
When you are happy your brain emits certain chemicals...
When you are depressed your brain isn't able to keep this system working properly...
The anti-depression medication is basically a CHEAT CODE for the brain that stops you from feeling extremely sad and brings you back to a NORMAL state...
*This is where knowledge and good daily practice is needed
If you figure out what I figured out and learn to manage your thoughts and stay out of negative thinking patterns and avoid the things that make you sad then it's very possible you can get off of antidepression meds...
But it's EXTREMELY difficult, because LIFE does happen...
But my outlook has changed significantly lately
Don't fool yourself we know enough about the brain to help ourselves...
There are different areas of the brain where different emotions are generated from...
If you have an injury to that portion of your brain your emotions are affected...
Again not trying to wave my knowledge in your face but you asked...
There is a book about the size of my hand that's about 3 inches thick that damn near explains word for word what each medicine used does and how it acts on the organs...
