Thats a difference in opinion. I believe it can be done off the broad generalization of being Black. Black americans do not know where they came from. If you think everyone should get a dna test and find out what nation they came from and then identify based on that nation you still run into a issue of all of these separate cultural identities based on specific nationalities. Meanwhile, other groups are identifying as more broad groups like

Asian,
Indian,
Arab
White.
Hispanic

Please edit based on my edit. I believe we can have a nation within a nation. You have Black and in that you have the diaspora of nations like how groups have Asian and within that celebrate various aspects of that race.
