Mums the word is flames. BR is exactly what I like about NY street rap. He's hard and grimy, but slick, witty, and self-deprecating too.
Great stories and very real, often with laugh out loud humor, but never silly

Very pleased with this released. I'm not the biggest fan of posthumous releases but D. Dot did a solid and really made a Modern style Bad Boy type album. I always felt Black Rob was talented. "Full Moon" and "Based on True Events Pt. 2" by NaS are two of my favorite tracks this year. Because Storytelling in Hip Hop is always something I enjoyed and shows the difference in writing skills of rappers. The skits were cool, reminded me of the 1st album. Overall this was one of the biggest surprises of the year for me. Peace Rob.
agreeing on all fronts, this came out of left field and the skits were aight allowed for some breathing room on a long album to ride out to and gave some good chuckles for BR fans. Rob going back to Ddot, yogi, buckwild for his go to formula straight out of jail was a good idea. Too bad this didn't get pushed n puff focused on french debut during that time.

After not hearing the hitmen on mainstream radio or with current acts it's refreshing to hear that sound in 2023, its definitively missing from the game. What Deric DDOT Angelettie, Buckwild and Yogi did on this album was build the baseline foundation for that classic sound that BR pollinated. What Stevie J, Mario Winans and Puff pulled off on the Love album is another example.

That represents only 6 of the hitmen if Puff pulled the crew together damn they could pump some solid hits but would it get the airplay in this era is the question.

Damn brehs I didn't expect this album to be this good. Shyt takes me back to the mid 2000's. Like the 2000-2010 era.

Hitmen, D-Dot, Yogi did a crazy job on these beats. They got that nostalgic but street vibe at the same time. Perfect for Rob's style.

It;s crazy how everyone always mentions producers like Pete, Dre, RZA, Hit-boy, Havoc etc but back in the day the Hitmen were extremely talented and had some hits too.
You gotta think if beats like this today would get radio play? If they worked with modern cats.

I didn't see Stevie J's name on this album though, was all the Hitmen not a part of this?

Full production credits aint surfaced yet but could put a bet he did the faith track as he was married to her at the time

Life Story was a Gem, never knew there were as a Sequel.:ohhh:

should of got 5 mics! Album could arguably say it helped keep Badboy rap alive during the rise of Rocafella post 98 and the new acts in 2000 ie Ja, Nelly etc...

Rob put out life story in March 2020 a few months after Biggie Born Again and then when Shyne followed up in Sept 2020 it showed badboy still had heat.

This album is so full of gems, every time I go back to it I have new favorites. I'm honestly getting to the point that I think if this had been finished as intended back in ~2010 it would have been Banco's best album

you ain't trippin, i was contemplating over the weekend whether this was better than part 1, because this here feels like a complete coherent album and the first one had a couple of joints that fell short a bit. Might be the first time that an artist's best work happens after he passes :hubie:
