anyone know when he recorded most of these joints?? are some of these early 2000's joints? I can't comprehend why this sounds better put together his last 2 projects that he dropped. Did him and D-Dot have that much a GREAT relationship? if so Salute to D-Dot, putting so much love into the project! :wow:

recorded when we got out of jail in 2010-2011. He didn't drop it because he went to duck down and went another route.

so D.Dot had this in stash then? this was supposed to come out originally back then?

Yes some of them were demo for the album, getting the foundation together, most had 2 verses some hooks unfinished thats why you got ddot or yogi filling in. They just kept it as is to keep it raw for the true BR fans and got it mixed and engineered. This would have came out on Badboy but Puff moved distributors from atlantic to interscope and renegotiated his deal w certain artists coming over. Rob went to duck down after he recorded this and started fresh.

Not to take away from BR as a story teller, MC, lyricist, w a new york gritty vibe, the hitmen production is elite class these are the types of beats Big would of on as well for a life after death follow up. Of course he would have experimented with other producers but this trademark sound u can just feel Big or even the lox ripping these. BR does them justice on theses tracks! This was his domain.

Very pleased with this released. I'm not the biggest fan of posthumous releases but D. Dot did a solid and really made a Modern style Bad Boy type album. I always felt Black Rob was talented. "Full Moon" and "Based on True Events Pt. 2" by NaS are two of my favorite tracks this year. Because Storytelling in Hip Hop is always something I enjoyed and shows the difference in writing skills of rappers. The skits were cool, reminded me of the 1st album. Overall this was one of the biggest surprises of the year for me. Peace Rob.
