He was rookie of the year and always had a winning record. When Fisher benched him , they lost almost all of their games until he was forced to put Vince back in and Vince ran the table and got them into the playoffs only for him to be benched again the following year

I don't have extensive Titans knowledge, but I think it's safe to say Vince Young was not a good NFL QB. That's a fair statement no matter who comes to that determination. I am right there with you on what you're saying, but in that particular case, the story was told, Vince was bad. Also, Dilfer lost his job after winning a SB, so who's to say?

All I know is Chip Kelly isn't a racist. Some people here sound like Shady McCoy right now, just a bad look/way of thinking.

I guess you missed my point - if he goes 8-8 with the "unpopular" black QB and misses the playoffs he puts himself at more risk of losing his job then if he sticks with the more "likable" white QB and goes 6-10. The narratives will say that the black QB stifled their ability to make the playoffs or that the white QB "needs more time" or didn't have enough help. Since it's not just about wins and losses, he will probably choose option 2 and keep his job and that's exactly what these statistics convey.

This is all there is to it, yet some want to make it this big issue. It's just not reality.

We've had QBs in Philly for the past 30 years, who mostly have happened to be black. We didn't target them for their skin color, and when their production decreased we didn't move on from them because of their skin color. Frankly, that is fukking stupid.

In my city, we don't even make that distinction anymore. It's kinda sad that people still need to group things together by race. Oh he's a black QB, he's a white QB, he's a red QB...... nobody even talks about that shyt anymore in real life. Not at the games, not on the street, not at work, not on sports talk radio. Nobody here cares what color a QB is and it's been that way for a long ass time. This forum and that terrible study are the only people pointing out races of QBs in 2015.

Adding elements of wanting to win isn't the point. Bottomline, black qbs don't have a chance to fail up like white qbs who can fail with hopes of them getting better. You completely skirt that point to spew some self made fluff that really has little to do with what's being spoken about here.

Your inability to see that theres a clear lack of patience tied to black qbs is your problem.

There needs to be a causal relationship between skin color and length of time though. The researcher didn't bother going to that length. He considered certain "factors" and we're supposed to take his word that when all is said and done QBs who are black have a 2.48x greater chance of losing their job week to week. Give me a break, I live in reality and have watched thousands of NFL games. It's just a ridiculous line to draw, and IMHO there's no way to prove it or even get to that number, not logically.

With something like this, where there is a countable number of players, it should be a case by case basis. Not some data that this dude entered into his own spreadsheet and then determined something from after plugging it into his computer, no, let's look at this case by case.

What black QB was benched because of his race in this era? I'm saying, if you skew numbers enough you can claim to prove any ridiculous assumption.
