I agree with this, I went to school in the inner city for at least half of my grade school years and I do feel that this is largely a myth.


I was always praised for being smart and on the straight and narrow. If anything I feel like it attracted the hood chicks cuz it was refreshing to them that I wasn't on that time most nikkas was on. Even to this day when I go back to the area these females be eyeing like crazy, I never struggled attracting hood chicks as a smart, square dude.

I specifically remember switching HS’s and going from an A/B student in advanced classes all the way to restarting a grade because of some classes in one state supposedly not being worth anything in another… which made zero sense to me at the time because these weren't specialized courses.. just basic shyt.

A counselor specifically said she has zero care to try and help me because she was worried about some kid whose dad bought him a hummer, getting kicked out his parents house for selling drugs.

I gave up on school that day really. Eventually dropped out and just working until going to a program and testing out.

So idk but being smart with good grades definitely wasn’t viewed as important where I was at. When I was younger, adults and parents cared more but it wasn’t nothing other kids cared about imo until test day when they want to copy shyt.

Exactly. I was a book nerd, straight A student. No one clowned me for my academics. I did get clowned for carrying around a big ass guitar in the hood though.

Nonsense. There are plenty of girls that like those types of dudes. Often the girls are not what the guys are looking for, but yea, a number of girls like a smart dude, or a lame dude, or whatever.

Now, if you fat, or sloppy, or stink, or are really awkward around girls, might find it difficult.

Also if you're shooting for girls that don't like you, might find it difficult.

Most of the time it is jealousy that a young breh is excelling so easily so people will find something to pick on to “bring him down” like His clothes, how he speak, if he a nerd breh etc..not just for getting good grades..
