agreed

we def put each other in a box sometimes

OP is in denial, if we can't keep it real on a so-called Black site, where can we be honest?
So you got on the bus and folks started riding you because you got A's and B's and the majority of the bus started laughing at folks for frying you for getting all A's and B's?

why are you going to extremes breh, this is a discussion lol

anyway to answer your question, in high school I saw plenty of Black kids not apply themselves academically to fit in. On God.

I also saw too many Black people get roasted for their clothes going all the way back to elementary school, even though not everyone can afford to wear daily name brands

I've seen Black males and females my whole life get told they "talk white" simply for being articulate

so there u go breh

Where you grow up at? This sounds like fantasy.

School was Centennial HS

Didn’t grow up there, moved from another state. Dropped out after 1 year and went elsewhere.

It can sound like whatever you think it sounds like. Only thing I don’t remember are names. I had a goal of graduating early and was on pace to do so. Took pre-algebra in 7th, Algebra in 8th, was in other gifted/advanced classes and was in geometry in 9th.. with my older sister. In fact.. we had multiple classes together that year and she was a junior. We moved after 9th and thats where the school bullshyt began

In New Orleans people did when we grew up. Dudes would act dumber to fit in.
I went to Terrytown for elementary. I’d say it was 50/50 in the 90’s (black/white). I tested for the GT classes and didn’t pass.
:aicmon:
Still got straight As though. Went to OP Walker for 7th grade. The top 20 students stayed together for all our classes. They were clowning me for being smart. There were days were didn’t learn anything because of all the disruptions.
:wtf:
Ended up getting into Edna Karr for 8th grade. Same issues but the kids were generally better and the teachers didn’t play.
Maybe 8 of us out of my Walker class got picked up. Them boys were still clownin but started to get left behind.
:heh:

Because the premise of this thread that I'm speaking on right now and I saw you talking about is "Black ppl do NOT clown other blk ppl for getting good grades". I agree with this notion as I've never seen this in my life and don't know how that would even work. You think I'm being fake when I say I've never been in any roast where someone getting good grades was got at for doing well in school? Maybe if you were doing well in school and trying to be something negative people would have called you a soft ass schoolboy and told your studious ass to stay inside.:skip:

You went to Centennial HS in Corona?
:lupe:
We (Murrieta) were in the same CIF division. Yall were the only school that gave us problems. Probably because yall had the most black players.
:mjpls:
I can’t remember if Hemet and Perris were black or mostly Mexican. shyt Centennial might have been Mexican too. Yall had a RB that was top 5 in the state (class of ‘04) though. I think he may have went to UW or Oregon.

Nah Georgia

I’m sure we were trash then but I don’t rep that fukking school… I was there for like a year and some change before dropping out but it should’ve been sooner.

Everytime I went back up there it was for some random ass reason but I always had ISS which didn’t bother me. I would be done with the school work I missed in a couple days.

I also had 2 jobs so I just stopped caring about school because no one else seemed to care whether I went foreal or not.

After reading this thread I wonder was this an age thing.......

I think some of these folks were just socially awkward and associated people cracking jokes as them not liking them for being smart. A lot of these dudes seem to have very low social IQ. I never experience someone clowning someone for being smart or doing well in school. Not sure how that would land and be taken as a slight.

I didn't say that, wtf are you talking about ?

Should've quoted me the first time fvck boy, but instead you went on some fantasy school bus roast session when myself and others are speaking from REAL LIFE EXPERIENCES, not any Coli alternate universe nonsense.

Are you God bro, are you TELLING ME I'M LYING?

I didn't make my posts for daps, that's corny

edit, I ain't say anything about you being fake, you're good, if you didn't have or witness anything like that you're blessed

doesn't mean everyone is lying though

You said OP was in denial and called into question whether or not people were being honest. In denial about black folks not getting clowned for their grades? You have real life experiences of seeing a black person getting good grades and getting clowned for it?

Where can we be honest? So people are lying when they say they never seen folks get clowned for making good grades?
