Say what you mean.typical c00n response arguing in bad faith. I'm saying our behavior shouldn't be dictated based kn weather white people are watching, good or bad.
Otherwise, you implied a much more sinister conclusion.

This might be a wild take but BET shouldn't be cool with their presenters being assaulted on stage either. OP is sitting here suggesting that it takes a herculean effort to not slap someone for saying words basically leaning in to a stereotype white people have been labeling us with for centuries. Black people are not judged by the same measuring stick as white people are in this country and it's long past time we understand this and move accordingly.
If that means minimizing your interactions with white folk, cool. But Willard Smith chose a path in life that requires him to be in spaces with white people, while doing business with white people and appealing to their sensibilities. Willard also knows what comes with that path, he's accepted those conditions and has played the game by their rules hence his spotless record. White people are also showing him and others how quick your perfect track record can be rendered irrelevant if you get out of bounds.
You can choose to live a life where your decisions and actions are less governed by the "white gaze" but if you choose a path where it does matter, you must also accept what comes with choosing that path.
Their opinions don’t matter - whites are the last group that need to be the meritorious meritocracy of moral authority on behavior.
And no the Oscars don’t mean shyt considering the past recipients to earn that nomination nod played mammies or wenches. Nevermind the fact that the one black woman, Mo’nique who played an abusive mother ended up being blackballed from the industry altogether. No, the academy ie whites are not the deciding factor - they don’t gaf about black people regardless of how we act. What @Matt504 won’t address is how the academy literally awards black actors for playing immoral or subservient characters.
Denzel Washington won for playing a corrupt black cop in Training Day but not a black father in Fences. Hattie McDaniel - Servant (they didn’t even want her in the same room/auditorium with white actors) Monique - Precious, Halle Berry- a piece to a white Supremacist, Forest Whitaker- Corrupt ruler. But now yall want to act like they have a moral cac clause for black causes. Foh
"oh lawd you nikkas can't be acting like that in front of them white folks"
White people hate your black ass because you're black. Act and speak like a Victorian era king and they will still hate and stereotype your black ass.
All the people coming out after the Will Smith slap saying he made black people look bad just showed how pathetic and mentally defeated they are.
Black people do not have to be superhuman and be free of all human weakness becuase white people are watching. That's is their fukked up nature and evilness and we aren't responsible for doing maintenance.
Mental health issues are a human condition. Will Smith during his mental health crisis was supposed to be able to think "I'm black I can't do this" and magically stop having a crisis in that moment? This is the dumb c00n shyt I'm talking about.

Let's put ethnic image and Black perception aside
Imagine working for 30 years and despite being extremely successful people not really taking you super serious as an actor. Fair or not. Now imagine being the star of one of the most positive and thoughtful Black movies there has been in a long time. Nothing but universal critical acclaim playing the father of 2 of the most influential Black women in sports as their younger selves. Honoring both families in the process. This night is a coronation ceremony essentially a maybe a quantum shift who knows.
This wasn't just an event for white people the entire world was watching and there is no excuse for what Will did. It wouldn't be ok at the BET awards either.
I actually like Will but that shyt could overshadow the doors that the Best Actor awards would have opened for him and others.
Oh no another Will Smith thread
The dumb shyt is you claiming he had a mental health crisis and expecting to be taken seriously.
Bytch why are you quoting me? I don’t f with you. It's been pointed out time and time again that when Black people win these awards it's more often than not for roles where the character is both Black AND dysfunctional. Jadakiss mentions this in his song Why which was released in 2004.
My point is that if Black people volunteer to be a part of that world, they are also accepting what comes with it which means playing by white people's rules and vying for the (white) awards that will validate them as actors and open up more opportunities to them.
Agree with the sentiment of the thread. Amongst OURSELVES tho we need to tighten up. You know damn well slapping another black man at the Oscars ain't being on code. I don't give a damn how fire Jada pwussy is"oh lawd you nikkas can't be acting like that in front of them white folks"

this cuck of a c00n lost his damn mind. Knew he was a bytch ever since that cac backed podcast fail with @therealmvp where he was kee-keeing and tee-heeing with a wench as he’s acting all giddy with her praises for white men that she gets down with. Lisp having self hating white washed b*stard that “he” is. Never checked her one time.
