I'm glad it's helped you breh. Too many folks I know shun the very thought of sharing problems with a stranger, but the benefits are legit. Hell, even writing down your problems in a journal can help.

Yeah. A lot of people need that neutral party who's equipped to deal with the stuff going on in their life. In my experience many of those same people are turning to the very people that caused or deepened their issues in the first place. Also, people are scared of being labeled as fukked up (by themselves or others) and go out of their way to avoid dealing with their issues in a healthy way. I understand that because of the stigmas people and society as a whole have regarding poor mental health.

Healing can hurt like hell too. My experience has been really painful at times and I've been at some extremely low points (emerging out of one right now tbh and typing this out helps) but I understand I'm trying to break an at least 4 generation cycle of abuse, substance abuse and mental health issues.

Yeah the stigmas are actually terrible. The hesitation most have to showing any sign of weakness is ultimately counterproductive. Salute to you for dealing with it head on and recovering. I hope you get through all this with flying colours and never have to go through it again :salute:

Depression sucks. I’ve been going through it for years (especially within the past year or so). I’m now seeing a therapist and nutritionist and things are kinda looking a bit better for me than before. I mean I have some days that are better than others but I think for right now, I have a better handle on it than before.

Are you active or creative? That can help.

When I was going through some stuff, the book Gorilla Mindset helped me out along with his website Danger and Play. Before he was doing the Trump stuff, Mike was writing the best mindset stuff out there in my opinion. Only bad news is that it takes a lot of dilligent work to pull yourself out of a depressed, anxious, weak state. I was willing to put ten toes down however cause I was tired of feeling weak. Good luck to all of you.

Does anyone else in here feel lonely often? :(

Oh yeah, anytime I'm with my family I feel alone...especially holidays. I'm the scapegoat/black sheep of my family so it's always weird for me being around them. I'm right there with you, breh.

Is there something that triggers the feeling of loneliness? @brownsugah

I feel at times I have a tough time connecting with others because I feel a bit different. Im pretty shy and reserved.. and very self conscious too.

I've read reviews about this book saying it's legit. I think I'm going to pick it up this weekend. Did it help you?

Yeah.. I was bullied growing up and that experience has taken a toll on opening up to others and even being able to trust them as well. It’s like I’m longing for relationships with others but I’m just afraid of opening up too much to where it causes hurt again.

And I'm the same way. I want to open up but In afraid I'll push people away by opening up and close myself off instead.
