I'm glad it's helped you breh. Too many folks I know shun the very thought of sharing problems with a stranger, but the benefits are legit. Hell, even writing down your problems in a journal can help.
Yeah. A lot of people need that neutral party who's equipped to deal with the stuff going on in their life. In my experience many of those same people are turning to the very people that caused or deepened their issues in the first place. Also, people are scared of being labeled as fukked up (by themselves or others) and go out of their way to avoid dealing with their issues in a healthy way. I understand that because of the stigmas people and society as a whole have regarding poor mental health.
Healing can hurt like hell too. My experience has been really painful at times and I've been at some extremely low points (emerging out of one right now tbh and typing this out helps) but I understand I'm trying to break an at least 4 generation cycle of abuse, substance abuse and mental health issues.
