I saw a video somewhere where Buck was saying Chris Lighty wanted to bring just him over the Def Jam, and that Chris always called him "the one that got away"

I remember there was talk Buck was supposed to have a solo called "The Night" or some shyt

The Night became the BDI THUG album. Initially it was Buckshot and bunch of girls singing doing background vocals with a live music format similar to some of of the stuff on For Da People. If you listen to the 12 inch singles from BDI THUG on some of the tracks instrumental you can hear the backdrops of the females singing in the background.

Or like this joint that was on the Duck Down Presents album which was all recorded around the same time.

R.I.P. Donald Byrd making these banging beat so we can get these good rap songs. :to:

it's crazy cause they flipped different parts of the same song for the OG and remix. I can't think of another remix like that

The Night became the BDI THUG album

yep, and I became disappointed. a Buckshot Album called "The Night" sounded so epic. BCC always repped that "night time" "puff herb break day" shyt

I really don't remember much about BDI Thug. but to be fair, it's probably one of those albums that's actually pretty dope if I listened to it now. it's just that back then I had very high expectations for that crew. plus I always felt the Beatminerz were a necessary part of their/his 'sound'

My favorite album next to Illmatic...

never understood why 5 FT was only on like 3 songs tho

I'm pretty sure 5 FT got locked up when they were recording the album. I think that's also why it took so long for the 2nd album to come out

black moon has alot of shytty songs

the best ones are the 2 remixes that aren't even on the album
buck em down remix
and
i gotcha opin remix

they shoulda had them on the album

the only songs i like on the album are

who got the props
and
how many emcees must get dissed

the rest suck

buckshot shoulda kept that vocal smooth style like on buck em down remix and gotcha opin remix

his career woulda been better

when he raps normal he sounds like shyt

He got locked up just as they were like halfway recording the album. He pretty much wasn't there for Bootcamp's 90's run and then came back for Black Moon's War Zone album. I think Black Moon for years now has just been Buckshot and Evil Dee.
