especially in the South..? All the HBCUs have a really strong spiritual identity. Texas, Bama, Louisiana, Georgia, Carolinas, Fl etc.. they’ve always existed outside the dominant society, culturally.. Why do you think Gospel Artists are literally cultivated most in these areas. Our youth still have that background instilled in us from our parents/grandparents.

black people are more religious than any other demographic (I'd assume Hispanics are right behind us)

none of this surprises me at all

its a bad thing because it demonstrates collective delusion

You're less likely to be interested in science and technology if you're skeptical of it and think it's demon activity (which sole purpose is to drive you away from "God"). And it could account for why you don't see alot of black faces in those fields. It's a cultural hurdle, we get fed our creationism before we can fed our science.

While it's far from the sole reason, you can definitely take the "could" out of that. You got young kids reciting creationist beliefs before they've had a chance to truly develop their own identities and thoughts. Unfortunately, that means some of us are told that science is something to be dismissed before any interest in it can be fostered.

Sad and depressing, but it's a current reality
