That's really my choice in what culture I identify with, but yes I agree with you, my disconnect is different. My Ethiopian side never embraced me, and I have always been a daddy's girl and close to that side. They raised me predominately especially after my pops passed so I feel an affinity towards African Americans more than anything else.

I respect how you identify, but I haven't even seen what you look like and know you're mixed. This tells me you identify as part Ethiopian. That's cool, just different.

Nobody questions whether Antonio Cromartie is AA. One of the Coli's very own members has Polish parents. No cac questions whether that member is a white American. Cacs like to say, "You're different", in order to weaken the extent blacks identify with each other, and accordingly the black coalition.

Obama mixed cmon. We are all black and we share in how cacs treat us, but we share more experiences than that. AA like to coalition build and it's good, but we shouldn't lose who we are in the process.

I have to go but in regards to your stunning list, I think I have a theory. I've seen foreigners express a sentiment that they don't necessarily see the US as a "real" country or Americans as "real people". This theory might help explain the discrepancy we're seeing as African American women see their people as "real". I'll try to expound more when I get back.

In order for there to be black male privilege. There most first be black privilege. Meaning black women would have some privilege too. If you saying there is no black privilege then how is there black male privilege?
I think what you mean to say is that there is Male privilege. Male privilege benefits mostly white males, but some black males may be able to get a small piece of it. We don't have to deal with sexism. true. But there is no specific privilege black males get for being black. Which imo makes it a bit sus for people to single us out on this and not include all males.
