I don't know how anyone can say with a straight face that black male privilege exists. As a black woman I've never seen it. Black males do not get the same male privilege that other males get. Whites are very threatened by black men, they treat them like they are the bogey man. The only thing I can think of is a black man can get job that requires others to feel intimidated by them because again their race and gender give them authority. Such a job may be being in charge of dangerous people etc. otherwise, white people are more okay with black woman for the shear fact that being women makes you less "intimidating". Seen it and heard it with my own eyes. I cringe when people talk about black men having male privilege. Black men are the most judged and condemned group in this country.

You can cringe all you want, male privilege exists and it does not stop with Black men. They may receive it to a lesser extent than white men but they have more privilege in this society than BW. You can "feel" whatever way you want to about it, but facts are facts. The people who have said Black men have male privilege over Black women are actually the only ones in this thread thus far that have actually brought statistics to the table. The only thing your side of the table, which argues that male privilege somehow escapes BM, has brought is grandstanding about how its impossible that BM have privilege over BW with no evidence. Which ironically is an example of privilege itself, because in what other situation can you outright ignore facts and still hold to your position while feeling correct? Only in a society where what you believe is true just because, which is to live in a position of privilege.

Statistics that show BM earn more, have more wealth, are in more positions of power politically, socially, and job wise than Black women, and the list goes on and on. The few statistics that supposedly were so in Black women's favor (employment) turned out to be bullshyt too.

And can you all quit with the "less intimidating" talk? That doesn't stop Black women from getting their asses beat and killed by police or by Black men themselves. And since being "less intimidating" comes with that having your plight flat out ignored whenever something does happen, people can miss me with that. Tens of thousands of Black girls missing and killed and they are never included in the talk about Black on Black violence, or problems in the community period. But at least we can pretend we're "less intimidating". Oh joy.
