Anyway to search by gender, what books do Black men buy? :sas2:

I hear :mjpls: got a new book in the works. I see literate black men not fukking with those books altogether. We probably reading one of Tariq's books. Granted, Tariq Nasheed does have some good game advice.

As a black person trying to publish two books. I applaud this thread.

I'm getting sick and tired of the same old same old romantic drama nonsense.

Me I like to write about horror, thriller, crime, historic fiction, Sci-Fi and maybe sometimes fantasy. Those five genres are the main ones I usually work with. You wont ever catch me writing something like a Tyler Perry movie.

Why is it that a WHITE MAN like James Patterson had to make one of the best selling mystery/crime novels named Alex Cross.

The protagonist is a strong educated family black man who is also kickass and good at solving crimes. The Alex Cross series is one of my series. Yet its NOT written by a black person. Why? Why has a white man made a book like Alex Cross, but a black person can't? Sad indeed.

And did I forget to say its a best seller?

its funny... white publishers dont want urban books but when you have an intelligent smartly written story that has black characters they place you in the black section of barnes and nobles anyways when your a black writer. I'm publishing my book myself... fukk these Cac publishing houses... they going outta business anyways.

You make a good point and agreed. But self publishing is quite hard. You have to do everything yourself.
