I don't think anyone is mad...it's just a flawed comparison. It's common sense that most immigrant/emigrate populations don't fully represent the masses of their country of origin because of self selection.
I respect you because you always bring data to back up what you say and you don't bring feminine emotions like these other dudes. Anyway, not all black immigrants are rich especially not the Caribbean ones since the rich and poor emigrate at similar rates.

Nah imma let you go to sleep angry
I am not angry about any crap talked about on a message board, especially by some clueless emotional person that doesn't know the history of Black people in the USA. Here are some pictures of the people that paid the price for you to be in this country. As a descendant of these type of people, I say on behalf of them; you are welcome.

I know this but the self selection is at work though. For example, I remember this British Jamaican dude from a board years ago say that the Jamaican's that went to/are in the UK were poorer, less educated and not as successful as the ones in the USA. He then said that Ghanaians in the UK were considered a model minority and they looked down on the Jamaicans because of this. He told me there were some Aframs there and they were pretty successful/middle class types. I don't live there so I don't know if it's true or not but it backs up my point about immigrant/emigrant populations not being a good representation of the country or group in question simply because of numbers.

not really true, the first Jamaicans to go to the UK came to fill up their labor shortages post WWII, the UK figured since they spoke English and were part of the Empire it would be a win-win. so the people there weren't really poor since they were filling up working class/blue collar type jobs. eventually the UK restricted immigration from former colonies and Jamaicans turned to the US and Canada in the late 60s onward. Also remember that Jamaicans have been in the UK for longer than Jamaicans have been in the US, they are much more assimilated than US//Canadian Jamaicans. I don't have a link right now (i got it through jstor) but i've studied this and the US received immigrants from ALL classes AND races in Jamaica (many of Jamaica's upper class moved to Florida but also there are much more illegal Jamaicans in Florida than in New York for example). i don't know much about the UK, but i do know that after their restrictions on immigration, many of the Jamaicans now immigrate to the UK for family reunification / already have a job there etc.

I believe he was talking about the current population there. I don't remember him talking about the initial British Jamaican population.
